................... Oh how the Dolphins lockeroom is going to change. I think that's what I love most about the aquisition. I think from a performance standpoint, we slightly overpaid, but Porter's mentality is going to make up for it. Face it, our guys have been pushovers for years. We've been soft. We've been finesse. I'm glad to see a guy who puts his fire on display.

New sheriff??

No sir. Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas have been and will be the sheriffs in Miami as long as thy're here.

You don't bring in an alpha-male mentality like Porter's unless you're trying to change the culture of your teamm and lockeroom.

I'm, curious did the Dolphind FO measure the stadium before signing Porter?

Would love to see you call ZT and JT finesse to their face!

Expand your horizons. I'm talking the entire team concept here. But in all seriousness, you can't even begin to compare the mentalities of ZT and JT to Porter's. They're vastly different. Especially Zach. He's a production guy, an overachiever.......but he's also susceptible to his "down in the dumps" mode.

Simply put the Dolphins defense will have a tougher more in your face attitude comming out for each and ever game. When Zachs down Joey will be up, basically we have a team motivator in Joey. Now give me a big hug..
:bighug:

Our defense has been pushovers for years? Are you talking about? Our defense has been between great and outstanding for years.

It's Porter that going to have to change his tune and play the roll of the new guy looking to help an already great defense. Any of his out spoken attitude will only alienate himself from the veterans.

Well at the least we have a new deputy in town. Welcome to Miami Joey. :dolphins:

Maybe not sheriff, but perhaps with Joey, Jason and Zach it's more like a HOLY TRILOGY!!

I think he's referring to how our defense seems to fold under the pressure especially during late game situations. I agree, our defense has been great for the past several years, but there's no denying that when we need them most (at the end of games), they let us down more than anything else.
