Figured I'd post my thoughts and others can too.

Positives:

  • Pennington did what he could. 26/43 - 60% Completion Percentage 2 TDs and the 1 INT was an end of the game "had to" pass.
  • Anthony Fasano looked great. 8 receptions/84 yds 1 TD. He really caught anything thrown his way and looks to be a potential threat.
  • Langford and Merling: Both were hustling. Langford got that nice sack and a nice tackle on Jones. Merling was always in the mix and neither really got manhandled for rookies.
Negatives:

  • Secondary. Secondary. Secondary. Although that PA by Favre really was nice, the secondary got blown on that. Not breaking up the 4th down and letting Shockley get a TD on that BS pass from Favre is inexcusable.
  • Offensive line. Gave up 4 sacks. Couple bad penalties by Long.
  • Wide receivers. Very non-existant. For the good times that the O-Line contained, Pennington had no where to go.
  • Some play calling. On 3rd and goal at the 3, I would have loved to see them try and run it up the gut. They knew that no matter what they were going for it on 4th. I would have rather them taken a chance on 3rd and hope for the yardage.
  • Running game non-existant. No fault to Ricky or Ronnie, in my opinion. But the imbalance between passing/running plays didn't help at all. The line really never opened holes and it made it easier for the Jets to then defend the pass.
Thoughts?

it was a good start....penn was great...we have to sign a WR....terry glenn with a limp is better than these guys...if u think about it...bess and camarillo were are two ¨best¨wr..two undrafted fa..cmon. but all in all i think we are gonna have a pretty good season...and keep running....we only ran 16 times..unacceptable when our two best players on offense are both rb.

I agree with most all ya said but I think you have to hold Pennington accountable for the int. I though it was a stupid pass.

I don't think Pennigton is the answer for the fins, he is to limited.

positives - touchdowns instead of field goals!

Penninton is not the answer for the fins. Henne is.

There's a chicken and egg thing. We won't be able to run the ball until we beat some people with our passing game. And throwing the ball to the RB and TE will not accomplish that. We need to hit some plas downfield to the WR to get the safeties out of the box, which will open up the running game.

maybe he is limited but better than any other any qb weve had since marino...fiedler, lucas, feely, beck, lemon.

so i am happy with the aquisition.4 now

I agreed with everything you said.

The dolphins will get better in time, so calm down guys. this is a rebuilding process, so mistakes will come.

I would add Ronnie to the positives. He had 51 yards on 9 touches (he needs to touch the ball more).

Also, the fact he was on the field and healthy is a great sign. Didn't look slow at all and made some cuts.

I don't think he's the answer either. I think he's the solution until Henne is ready. The reason I don't hold him accountable is because he became under pressure and threw that ball because of it. And regardless, I think Ginn should have been able to at least knock that ball down.

I hold Ginn more accountable than Pennington.

your above post has pretty much summed up the Phins offense since Marino retired. nothing has changed. same ole, same ole.

I believe the coaches now know exactly what they need to fix. We have some young guys that have a lot of upside. We are going to have to establish the run to set up the pass.

I also believe the play calling suffered today. Hopefully this will work itself out when we get the running game going. The O-line needs some more work but this year I believe its a fixable situation.

So are the jets fans thinking that favre isnt the answer for them? If he had the same stats but we won everyone would be saying he is a god etc.. that INT was GOOD defensive play, just sucks that it had to fall their way and not ours. Pennington in my opinion did great. He had more yards than Favre, the same amount of touchdowns, and moved the chains when it counted. I call that doing his job. You cant place the blame on him. Where was Ginn, hagan, WILFORD. Didnt the only WRs to catch a pass was Bess and Camirillo? Jake long had a couple stupid penaties and if you negate that tripping one We could have easily gotten a FG or a Touchdown out of it. Would have been Pennys longest rush of his career too lol. All in all im bummed that we didnt win but I am pleased with the way we played today. If this was last years regime it could have been 28-3. Just my 2 cents..
