The Chiefs (specifically HC Herman Edwards) have not ruled out the possiblity of Trent Green returning as thier starter. If they decide to keep T. Green and continue to groom Brodie Croyle, there is a good chance they could let go of Damon Huard and be able to do so with out taking a large cap hit. At one point Huard was the QB to replace Marino and was even endorsed by "Dan the Man", but was bumped by Jay Fiedler (yikes). How Ironic would it be for Huard to return to the Fins after many years of searching for Marinos replacement? Another "what if" situation but it seems just as logical now as any other.

Can't see KC letting go of Huard instead of Green. Huard will help bring Croyle along. Even if Huard was available, he'd definately not come back to an organization that crapped on him like we did.

Not sure the Chefs truly view Croyle as the QB of the future ... but they certainly hope it 'works out that way' ....

That being the case, Huard is the better option for them -- in case they need to go 3-4 years instead of 1-2 ...

Miami didnt have interest in Green because he was available, we want him because he has a history with Cam and has played in this system his whole career. We have NO interest in Huard and KC wouldnt let him go anywhere without much higher compensation. NOT INTERESTED. We need a QB for a year or 2, only.

The only crap Huard got was from Dave Wannstedt. I dont think Huard would have a problem returning to the Phins since there has been 2 new head coaches since Wannabe. (3 if you count Bates)

This cannot happen, KC just signed Huard to a pretty admirably sized contract extension. The cap hit would be too large and Miami wouldn't pay what they gave him.

I think this is a misleading thread title and the entire premise is more Madden like than anything else...

I don't buy it for a second. Edwards does not say he wants Green to be his starter. He wants competition and they think Huard or their other QB will be the guy, not Green. The end result? You have a 7.2 mil a year QB sitting on the bench. Not going to happen. KC does not and will not keep Green on the roster, haha

Not to mention, after this whole offseason, that Green would command those players? That Green would want to play 100% every down for KC? Come on, there are theories of course, but use common sense to wade thru the BS.

Quit with the Madden trades...it's not the real world...

I think this is highly unlikely...Does anyone realistically think that after everything that has transpired that TG will play a down for KC even if they do decide to keep him. Seriously, at this point he has to be totally disgusted with KC and his loyalty for the team is less than zero...Even with a restructed contract in KC I seriously would see TG telling them to...You know

Herm Edwards is under extreme pressure in KC ... so, if it were up to him -- I am sure that he would like to have both Green AND Huard regardless of $$$$. I am quite sure that he isn't banking on Croyle leading the chefs this year or really even next ....

AND if he doesn't make the playoffs this year -- he could be very well out of a job. He didn't inherit a 'bad' team ... missed the playoffs last year -- and must make it this year to survive.
