- "The mean man didn't take who I wanted."

- "What an idiot, why didn't he trade down?"

- "We should have drafted _______________. Fire everybody!"

I honestly can't decide whether its funny or sad every year with the reactions after our draft.

FH has become the prototypical Jets fans that the cameras pan to in Radio City Music Hall after their pick. :bobdole:

Isn't it odd how every year the "whiners" end up being right about the draft though?

not really, because you give yourself significantly better odds whining about the draft given the success rate. and before someone else says it, our FO didn't make things any better.

Not really. Seems like the consensus on Pouncey was wrong. (full disclosure: I didn't like it at the time)

No matter who is picked - people come out of the woodwork to bitch.

I guarantee there were people that complained about the Marino pick (though FH didn't exist then) - talking crap about the coke rumors.

Some people just aren't happy unless they get to complain.

It's funny. I was chastised for hating the Dallas Thomas pick by all of those people who were certain we had a draft steal at LT. Now we double down on that mistake and I'm chastised again. Not sure I was wrong last time. Not sure I'm wrong this time either.

Funny thread though. Cool story bro.

1. Corn was going to be hated on here by many regardless of who it was. I actually let the forum convince me Martin was worthy of the 19 pick but in reality if both Martin and James have good careers they will be pretty much interchangeable as far as wins and losses go.

2. Shazier or Mosley would have been hated by many.

3. Trade down losing 60 points in value would have been hated by many

4. To not trade down was hated by many

5. Taking a skill player and missing out on all the good tackles would have been hated by many

6. Taking a skill player that can't get on the field would have been hated by many

7. Giving up a lot of sacks cause we have Clabo back would have been hated by many.

8. Best value for me by far, and the pick that would have created a ton of excitement and buzz, and the pick that would have made the rest of the AFCE sit up and take notice rather than yawn -- JOHNNY MANZIEL. Which most definitely would have been hated by almost everybody.

You could see the Dallas Thomas pick was a compromise pick because they lost out on all the guys they really wanted (thus forcing them to go with the project). They didn't want the same to happen this time, plus no one seems to have issue with this being the guy who will be our day 1 starter at RT, but rather where we picked him. It all seems childish at this point, at least wait until we see the production.
