Corporate America isn't on board with Barry Bonds' march toward baseball history.

If things were a little different, Bonds could have been one of the greatest heroes we've ever seen in American pop culture, a giant of a man and an unprecedented role model. And as he flirts with history, Bonds could be cashing in like virtually no other athlete.

I think he will die a bitter old man.....he has to look in the mirror every day knowing he cheated. Hope it was worth it Barry.

You might as well die a bitter old man swell, looking in the mirror wanting to be something, do something you have no talent what soever to do. A lot of people have taken steroids i do not see them getting 756 homeruns hell some are minor leaguers. Just because you take steroids doesn't make you get or even make you better it just makes you stronger. And until he fails a drug test i hold no judgement either should you guys.

everyone set their TIVO's to Costas NOW on HBO. See the last episode. It's amazing that Barry has as many supporters still as he does.

Curt Schilling backtracks and doesn't knock Barry. Takes back all of his comments about him.

Chris Rock tears down Babe Ruth (why, who knows) in his defense of Barry saying Ruth only played against "white folk" and nobody holds that against him. (i guess in Rock's world that makes it ok to take roids and break the law). Then Rock goes onto say black baseball players were far superior to white baseball players back when Ruth played and Ruth got his numbers against inferior competition and asks why he is held up to such high regard?! Then Costas gets Chris to say that no player before 1947 should be compared to players after 1947 because of the white/black seperation.

Then the kicker, the guy who invented "the clear" says he has no guilt about Barry breaking the record using his invention. Only guilt about the track and field stars who used it. This genius says since there was no rule about steroids in MLB at the time he has no guilt. Uh, yeah there was a rule about steroids. Not in MLB the time because it was assumed, since it was a law in society about roids.......IT'S AGAINST THE LAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear people in this country get dumber by the day!

Although it's probably been suggested before, if pretty much everyone outside of SF hates this guy, can't all the the pitchers from the rest of the teams just agree to walk him for the rest of the season? It's going to be really interesting on #755 and #756 as pretty much everyone pitching to him isn't going to want to go down in history as the guy he hit them on.

Youre right all steroids do is make you stronger. But keep in mind a guy like Bonds already had HOF ability. So stronger with maybe the best hand-eye coordination of any player in the last 30 years, maybe ever, is a sick combo. He was great without the roids and more fun to watch when he was younger. The point though is that steroids are still illegal regardless of what baseballs rules were at the time.

EDIT: And when you admit you used them theres no need to fail a drug test to prove it.
