but it seems like we will have at least as much roster change with Philbin as we would have with a new more competent coaching staff. Next year we will have a revamped secondary, linebacker group, defensive line, offensive line and receiving core. Not complaining or arguing against the need to upgrade the talent...just doesn't strike me as a team that is on the rise, needs a tweak here and there and therefore requires consistency at the top.. In fact it seems the opposite to me...a team that is need of a complete overhaul....players and coaches included. Fixing half the problem...just delays ultimately solving the fundamental issue...

I doubt Ross has any confidence in Philbin. I just think Ross doesn't think he can find anyone better. That or he's afraid to have another coaching search leave him embarrassed again as he can never reel in his 1st choice.

I would say the only argument for continuity would be for the staff. Ross just made a slew of changes last year and wants to see them through. This way next year it gives him the ultimate all-or-none decision with which direction to go. The only player that I think fits the continuity motto would be Tannehill.

If Ross wants continuity and believes in Philbin, why not lock him up with a 3 year extension? I think most of us felt Ross wanted a playoff appearance, or at the very least a winning record. He got neither. He likely wants the staff to continue what's going on, and Lazor making Tannehill a 4k yard passer is a valid arguement for that. It would suck to know Ross wants a winner on the field despite Philbin instead of because of him.

ross and philbin have also been consistent at losing and being incompetent

Its based on the same thing most of us have our eggs in basket....Ryan Tannehill...and Lazor.

You want to be surprised? Take a look at NE's roster right now, and then look at it before game 1. Let us all know what you see.

Ross is never honest every year he starts off saying same thing then back tracks at end of season. Horrible owner. Owned us six years, not one winning season.

Here is a list of available head coaches:

Some with and some without HC experience. ALL are better candidates . he stuck his foot in his mouth and I don't see him attracting anyone.

ross kept philbin so he wouldnt be forced to talk about harbaugh when he as let go the other day...period...he cares more about Michigan and having a superbowl party than miami being in the superbowl...never forget that...

Apparently Miami and Jets told Harbaugh they weren't interested FWIW. Harbaugh only going to be at Michigan for like 3-4 years before he comes back to the NFL. He wants a ring bad.

I forgot we made the playoffs in 2008 with a 7-9 record.... Just so you know we had a winning season ;)

And we thought Huizenga was a bad owner. I would take him back in a heart beat over Ross.

He was a better business man also! He paid like 100 Million for the Team and sold it to Ross for over a billion. Ross lost money on the deal big time........having just paid over $400 million for stadium upgrades to a stadium he couldn't giveaway. LOL.......Wayne made some bonehead head coach moves, but the guy TRIED. ROSS is a moron who needs to sell the Team and move back North. I'd take Bon Jovi even at this point. At least we would be living on a prayer........:tumbleweed:

The primary argument for keeping Philbin is that Ross is clueless as an owner
