this team traded a 2nd rd pick for culpepper.I am not gonna 2nd guess Saban about Brees but im gonna ask that he take responsibility for rushing culpepper being out there and he only him put this roster together. The draft was not that great either he should of tried to trade up and get Cutler.Jason Allen enver got on the field and Hagans looks like in a year or so he will be a good Wr. As far as the rest of the draft went and the Vick experiement it was awful. The signings of Goodman and Hill and that idot Lehan who should of intercepted that past last nite, he has killed this team since week 1 with his stupid penaalty vs the steelers on 3rd and 20 that eventually led to the steelers go ahead td drive. everything resolves around the Qb well this team in the end should drafted Cutler not culpepper or Brees...why does every dolphin coach insisit on trading a 2nd rd pick for a qb..it never works out...i dont see this team making the playoffs in '07 unless there is a new head coach or offensive cord. and to top it off no matter who the qb is i dont liek any of the 3 we have..worst of all i feel bad for zach and jt it is a shame that they have to be part of this crap they try so hard and it seems like they will never ever make the playoffs..what a shame to..

for one the c-pep could still work out how can say this draft has been terrible its been one year.. vick has had one pass thrwon at him all year how can you call that failed and to say we need to fire saban is just stupid but i shouldnt get mad at you htough becuse you dont seem to know much about football

These have been my words exactly for the past 9 months. This post is almost word for word what I have been screaming since March. In fact, if this poster weren't not-me, I'd be sure that it was me.
:D

Trade up and get Cutler with what, an imaginary extra 2nd or 3rd round pick that we didnt have? Or should we have shipped away the 3rd we did have, another pick gone so we could draft a QB? I thought trading picks for QBs was bad. Nice logic there.

How is the rest of the draft horrible? He had a 4th rounder and 3 7th rounders. Toledo looked like he was heading towards a starting job before he got hurt. Aromashodu was solid in college and worth a pick though he got cut. Evans is a beast and Rodrique Wright is a huge steal if he comes back healthy. You guys are nuts if you are going to evaluate a draft after 1 season when half our picks were in the 7th round. What, you blame him for not drafting Marques Colston? Come on.

I thought not being aggressive for Cutler was a worse move than not getting Brees. We had our next heir to Marino and instead went for a hobbled vet

Now you're just being deliberately dense. What many of us have been saying is that we wasted a 2nd round draft pick for a guy who was going to be cut by his own team in a matter of weeks.

That pick (or our 3rd rounder) was enough to move up to get Cutler when he fell out of the Top 10. That's exactly what the team picking one spot behind us did: the Denver Broncos.

Do you even pay attention to the draft?

IMO: It start in 2005 when Saban signed Gus Forgotten...false hope.

Bingo!

You nailed it. JMHO

One star vote for this thread.

You didn't know they were going to cut him. God knows what would have happened had we not traded for him. I think the original poster is being dense. You need to try to read into my words and see the irony I was trying to get at. People hate having to trade picks for QBs, Feeley, Harrington, Culpepper. The original poster hates the fact we traded a pick for our QB. Well by trading up you essentially traded another pick for a QB (or in this case the right to draft one). I'm perfectly aware Denver traded up to get Cutler, you make a blind assumption that I don't watch the draft with your post. My point is that its ironic people dont want to trade more picks for QBs and yet they 2nd guess a decision to not trade a pick to move up for a QB.

Dude, not only did I know they were going to cut him, so did approximately the rest of the National Football League. Face it, we blundered away a pick that we could have used in the draft to move up and get a QB of the future.

Then u need to work for an NFL office or something because it is amazing that you knew that Pep was getting cut but a team full of professionals who have been doing it for a long time didn't. Just amazing.

I'm still very content w/ the fact that if Culpepper makes a full recovery from his knee, that he was a good bargain for only a second rounder. He still is young, and is a proven commodity.

And people who keep saying we could have traded up for Cutler forget to realize that means with 2 picks, we get one player . . . . by getting Pep, we got 2 players . . . Jason Allen (who hopefully is a future playmaker at the S position for us) and Daunte.

I liked Cutler to draft, but I don't think I would have give nup a first and a second for him. I mean its easy to say u would have now with the QB problems we have had this year, but u don't know how things are gonna shake down at that time.

Once I realize the relative IQ of the Daunte Apologists replying to me in any given thread, I don't bother to keep explaining simple things like gravity and the existence of sunlight. Have a nice delusion...

Hey maybe Daunte never gets back . . . but we aren't fortune tellers here. All I know is . . if we get Cutler . . .it would have meant giving up 2 draft picks (1st and a second mind u), while instead we picked up our first pro bowl QB since Marino and still had our number 1 with the route we went (Brees didn't want to come here, he didn't choose us). I'm tired of giving up picks for QB's, u never know how these guys are gonna pan out. Just like u don't know how Brees or Cutler would play behind this line . . . too many hypothetical situations. I give Saban props for atleast realizing that we needed a playmaker at QB and taking a shot at a guy who is a proven commodity. LOL some people wanted Gus Frerotte to stay, gimme a break. If Daunte comes out next year and plays some high level ball what is your logic then? Nobody should be passing negative judgement towards Daunte until we see this guy healthy.

You don't need to be a fortune teller, just an objective observer with a functional level of intelligence. Daunte Culpepper will not come back next year and play at a 'high level', whatever that means for him (not taking 6 sacks per game?).

And I would have given 3 draft picks for Jay Cutler; that's how good he will be. (In case you missed it, that's also me with another one of my dead-on predictions. God, I wish I weren't always right.)

So you can twist your pretzel logic any way you like; the bottom line is you're one of the ones defending Daunte Culpepper coming to this team over Jay Cutler or Drew Brees. Even worse still, you want to stick with what we've got and pass on yet another franchise quarterback possibility in next year's draft.

There's simply no way I can reasonably address that level of stupidity without getting reprimanded, so I'm out. See ya!

So people are going to resort to name calling now? Please stop with this ****.
