There is variation here in how much of one's emotional life is affected by the Dolphins' performance, and for the people whose lives are affected a great deal, there is likely an inherent bias toward seeing the glass as half-full when it comes to elements of the team that are strongly correlated with winning (i.e., quarterback play) but are currently at least somewhat ambiguous. You shouldn't get thumbs down for this ... it's a fair question. I think we would be division leaders with a top 10 qb. Frankly, QB play around the league has been poor this year and there are several teams around the .500 mark that would be in much better shape with a top 10 qb.
Tannehill is playing below average ... yes I get he's still learning, I myself have made that argument in the past and I'm not intending on rehashing that, but it's a reality of life that if we had say ... Aaron Rogers or Drew Breeze we'd probably have at least 2 more wins.
I don't see why anyone would be upset about discussing this. Tanney may still become one, but at least for now, he's not there yet.
When the "glass is half-empty" statements are made, those people tend to react viscerally, since they're also likely to be people who have insufficient interpersonal boundaries to feel comfortable thinking whatever they think while other people think something else.
