I was very pleased with last weeks game as we took some obvious positive steps in the process. We had a fourth quarter for the record books, when all indications pointed to packing it up and giving in to a team and organization that proved itself to be hollow and without direction. We still are committing too many penalties at crucial moments and giving turnovers to our opponents and failing to capitolize on their mistakes.

I imagine this weeks game against SD could be a step in the right direction and we play toe to toe with a potential playoff team. I think if we play the game of the season (note last season's Patriot game down in Miami) we could pull one out and shock the league.

I think it is more likely that we take two steps backwards and get demolished, but no matter what I will be glued to the set and fanatically behind my beloved team.

I have much faith in Saban. I am very impressed with his eye for talent and another massive stock of talent in the draft and free agency will irradicate the rest of the cancer with which Dumbstadt and company poisoned our franchise and scarred our illustrious history. Next season at this time Miami could very likely be on a role and our destiny as contenders and perrenial champions be ressurected.

Good post!
Too many fans have that 'win-now' attitude, which is all good, but I'd rather have the team built for the long haul. I can wait a couple years for a SB victory, especially if the team is going to be an annual contender once again.

We are being set up for years with our: players, Cap, And facilities. Can you ask for more?

They played like a highschool team in the first half. Enough to negate the good things in the second half. Great win, lost of fight in them at the end, great focus, but not much gain as a solid team. They tried just as hard to win in some of the past games but the score was not supportive of progress.

They had good focus, but not much got processed!
Boy that word process baffles people. No corner has been turned. Tune in this week and see what you think.

The process entails getting rid of the brook trout look so that we can turn the corner by having our players focus on the next play and not the scoreboard because winning and losing is not important now, rather its the process that when the players buy into it will lead to wins.

There, I think that about sums up every Saban press conference

True, the beginning of the game was horrible, but what really shines is the fact that the team kept in the game and hammered out a victory instead of rolling over! We may not have turned the corner, but we are peeking around it.

No process in the world is going to let us compete with the Chargers. We simply don't match up with them talent wise. The Chargers game is not going to be a good indicator of where this team is simply because the Chargers are a top 3 team. All we're going to find out is that we are not a top 3 team which I believ most on this site secretly suspect already

great post, great points

You know why I think we win vs san diego?

Because I think our guys know that now they can make a statement that we are for real, that we had our early season troubles but now its gametime and we have changed things around a lot in one year alone, we can shock the country and show everyone that the dolphins are for real, and will be good next season, this game could be the game we establish the identity saban has been talking about, 'We want teams to hate playing the miami dolphins' were sabans words, and this game can be a step towards makeing that more than words, but an actual truth

we arnt a top 3 team of course BUT

every dog has their day, and even if we dont totally match up talent wise take this saying into account

Its not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog

and thats what I believe saban has brought to us this year, the knowing that we CAN win against great good teams even if we arnt the best talent wise

Look at a few teams we beat

Carolina, and denver

They have more talent, but we hung in and won

I hear what you're saying but at this point in the season you're not sneaking up on these type of teams. The Chargers have a strong running game and Antonio Gates and decent receivers. On defense they can stop the run and rush the passer. There only weakness is the secondary which we are going to attack with Gus's inaccurate arm. This is the only game on our schedule that I wouldnt get too excited about. We can beat every other team on our schedule but the Chargers are in another class this year. The way I'm seeing this game is it should be a good learning step for us to see where we need to go next year to compete with the best.

denver would cream us if we rematched them right now.
carolina would too.

Of couse and I know exactly what your saying

but

LT wont run wild on us I dont think, Zach will come to play and Channing Crowder is a rookie but the kid can play, if we can contain LT then their passing game shouldnt be a probel, JT can provide a pass rush, and our corners can handle their WR's

Gates does scare me a little I admit, but they cant throw to him every play

On offense

I think the O-line might do Gus a favor and block for him this game

and

Ill be the first to admit Gus is in the bottom half of QB's in accuracy, but if he has time he can make the throws

I know we are a long shot to win, but if we do I wont be suprised at all

Well cheers on the optimism. I think the only difference we have in the breakdown of matchups is with Traylor out, our run stopping defense just diminished big time. And for some reason I'm not sure we're going to block their pass rush but other than that you never know. If Brees or LT goes down or Gus gets hot we might have a chance. I just don't want to hear how this team sucks if we lose to a top 3 team which happens after every loss. We're bad but we dont suck - see Jets (they suck).
