I am sick and tired of seeing former dolphin quarterbacks go other places and have success after being mediocre here. Most recently A.J. Feely, Brian Griese and Damon Huard to name a few. So the answer must be much larger then the position. We see these quarterbacks thive in systems such as the west coast yet what have we had here since Marino. Hell the only system we had when Marino was here was, "Go long and I'll hit you." We need coaches that understand the game of football and can see the big picture beyond this season and beyond just one or two players. Maybe Wayne needs to take away some of Nicks Job titles so he can concentrate on coaching more and on managment less...... Oh and please spare me the names of Dolphins who were busts in other places. If you are going to go there you miss the point of this thread.

You've got to be kidding. You know what though, I did see all three of those QB's on this year's Pro bowl roster.

We need a QB this year. Draft one!

AJ Feeley and Griese dont even play. What are you talking about?

We dont need to draft a QB. We need a WR with the #9 pick. Culpepper will be our guy.

Dude, your mental capacity is seriously undermined by your limited ability to understand a given topic. Which one of our quarterbacks made the Pro Bowl this year? Yeah, None.

...and you miss my point of sarcasm. The system will be fine. We just need the right players to fill the system. This is true with any system. Without a system, it's a disorganized crap shoot. I don't like MM, but he was successful at Pittsburgh. It's about time we draft a QB and mold him to our system, not get a "has been" from another team.

I agree that it's the system. That wasn't the case last year though. The difference is that last year we had a good OC, this year we don't.

Mularkey has been in the league too long, everyone knows what he does because they've all played against him. Especially in our division. We need a new guy, with some fresh new ideas, and someone that hasn't been coached against all that much.

I'm curious about a stat... how many OC who have been in the league for over five years have thriving offenses?

The point being to kick the team when it's down, right?

We've got a system. It works fine. The problem is the players not executing, or getting too injured to play effectively.

So I suppose your are just thrilled with our offensive system too huh?

no AJ feeley was playing well behind a pretty good o line-and he extensivly knows the WCO- the SAME offense where he was in philly when he left-the only thing they do different is run the ball a little more because they dont have an all world QB-and no im not thrilled at all but we do have QB's in our system that can succeed-Mularky need to go and we need a number 1 reciever that can stretch the field- no more of the chambers is number 1 crap because he isnt.

and to answer your question yes im thrilled with it-ronnie and company gets enough carries and we get the oppertunity to go down the field-we get an offensive line and a good WR and yes we will be putting up 24 points a game

Yep, yep, and yep.

First of all, I'd like to point out that this is a genuinely terrible thread.

I've also sort of got to ask what system you are talking about out of a sort of morbid sense of curiousity. You realize, of course that we've had at least 5 different offensive coordinators here since the Marino years, right?

We must draft a real franchise quarterback, or put up more years of mediocrisy.

Draft a QB after putting up all that coin, and a 2nd round pick, for Culpepper? And after Culpepper only playing 4 games while injured? No way. Absolutely no way. Maybe if we get rid of Harrington or Lemon, I could see the need for drafting a QB in the 6th or 7th rounds, simply to have a #3 on the roster. We certainly aren't drafting Tyler Palko, as per your signature.

If we absolutely need to draft a QB, I'd rather wait until next year and make a run at Colt Brennan.

And it's mediocrity.

You defintely have to draft the right guy for the system. If the right guy is not in this year's draft, I guess you have to wait. However, expect 2-3 years, before a newly drafted QB has grown into the NFL, ie more growing pains for this team. Colt seems like a great talent. However, the extreme stat QbBs never seem to pan out in the NFL.
