The Rams are not highly thought of around the league. A lot of that reputation stems from their offense, which is last in scoring and second to last in yards. But consider something. Despite those two facts, they are 4-5. Their defense has been showing up and has kept them relevant. Teams with good defenses have given us a lot more trouble than teams with good offenses in the RT era. The offensive line, which has never been a strength and is still porous despite that being minimized by the current staff, is certainly as much to blame with that. I expect a battle in the trenches where yards are going to be hard to come by and we will not be able to just impose our will on the opponent. As we saw versus the Browns, even bad teams are going to find a way to generate enough offense to keep games competitive. Keenum has been horrible inconsistent, but when he first came out he reminded me of Trevor Siemian, a low round pick who just threw a nice pass and had great timing with his receivers. In a different universe I imagine he may have turned into a guy like Siemian, but he lost his confidence with a Texans team that couldn't get anything right. He'll make some plays. Teams have been bottling up Gurley all year like we did Melvin Gordon, but the talent is there if he gets openings. And Tavon Austin is a dynamic player if they find a way to get him the ball.
We're 5-4 and riding a four game winning streak where we've beaten division opponents and two teams with extremely productive QB's, but don't sleep on the next guys on the schedule.
