We all know the Miami Dolphins have struggled for the last few years. The reason for this is the horrible job the front office has done in the draft.
In the past 9 drafts the Dolphins have only drafted 1 player who has earned a spot in the pro bowl. This was Chris Chambers after the 2005 season. They havent drafted a player who became an all pro selection since 1998. This was Patrick Surtain who was named all pro after the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
Im not saying the Dolphins havent had pro bowlers or players who have been all pro selections. Im just saying they havent drafted any recently. In the NFL you have to build a majority of your team through the draft. A team then rounds out its roster through free agency. The Dolphins have done a horrible job of this recently and hopefully Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland can help turn this disturbing trend around.
