Im not watching the game so i dont know if they are playing well today or not...but I know Saban likes the MASSIVE O-linemen...guys who are 6'6, 330 pounds. Now yes those guys are big and intimidating, but guys that big are also slow and get lazy easily...especially in the Miami heat. If you look at the Broncos O-line, Charges O-line, Colts O-line...they arent MASSIVE, they have big guys who are more muscular and lean (not fat).

so in my opinion...maybe saban should ditch the fat guys, and just go for the solid built linemen...anyone else think thats why our O-line struggles??

what was JT doing on offense?

It has nothing to do with their size and everything to do with Daunte not moving around the pocket. The rushers know where he's going to be and the best offensive line in the world can't block when the people their blocking know exactly where they need to get to sack the QB. Daunte is tired...he looks terrible out there.

Did the samething last year, and several teams do that type of thing at the goal line. What does it have to do with the thread though?

Yes, it is all Culpeppers fault that the offensive line cant block...

Have you even watched a miami dolphins game this year? To say or even hint at that its not the o lines fault for daunte getting sacked is insane. Daune barley has enough time to look at his recievers before he has to get rid of the ball.

I agree with the topic creator, we need some mobility out of our Linemen

Mobility from linemen? WTF do you want them to do run out of the way of the guys their blocking? LMAO You need mobility from the QB not from the linemen.

I'm watching and the blocking has been poor. That's just the way it is. The OP might be right about the sixe, but I think it is likely just an issue of talent. They don't look strong or agile.

In order to runblock, you offensive line needs to be mobile. Any handoffs to the outside or tosses usually requires a mobile linemen to get off the line and lead the pack with a block. You cant be fat and out of shape like the topic creator said, you have to be mobile, meaning using your feet. If you ever even played or knew anything about football You would know that offensive linemen mainly use there legs for blocking (they give leverage and a boost when blocking)

Know wouldnt you think that a linemen in better shape would be able to use his legs better then a fat linemen?

In order to even open up the run you need to have a passing threat and having a QB that stands in the same spot only time he moves is when he moves into the sack just shuts down the run game regardless of how mobile your line is. We are not talking about run blocking though we are talking about pass blocking and they simply can't pass block when Daunte just stands there waiting to be sacked. Hell even when he ran in for the touchdown he did the doublestep first as he was so hesitant to run with a wide open lane to the inzone. It's just pathetic and how anyone else cant see it is beyond me...

We havnt got Quality needed to take us to the SuperBowl. End off.

Or you need to be a beast and just move people. We don't seem to have either.

you need to be mobile to pull, to go out for screens, and to block some quicker dends and backers. a big, slow, tub of lard will just get run around.

I can't care what qb you have, if you don't have people to protect you then it doesn't mean a hill of beans!! I'm not saying that Culpepper hasn't had his struggles, but as per usual, our offensive leak is weak and don't know the fundamentals of blocking, pure and simple!!
