*** The Rex Ryan Super Thread***

I'm not a big Rex fan, but until Brady and Belichick are gone, all the other AFC East teams are just throwing **** against the wall and seeing what sticks, so, sure, why not?

It's
Putting the Rex Ryan Is More Than He Actually Is Fallacy Into Perspective

Effective Ravens DC.

Brought that mindset to the Jets in 09 where using mostly Mangini's players, sneaked into the post season when in week 16, previously undefeated Indy, ahead at the half, pulled all their key players for the sake of keeping them healthy for the playoffs. And in week 17, beat an already in a tailspin Bengals who also rested their players. With those 2 charity wins, ended up 9-7.

Fielded a good team in 2010 (his last good team 9 seasons ago) which went 11-5 (1 win better than Gace in 2016).

Since then, Rex has gone 8-8, 6-10, 8-8, 4-12 for the Jets then 8-8 and 7-8 for the Bills. So after the 2010 season, Rex's record has been 41-54.. which actually makes Gase's record (23-25) look good. Overall his regular season record is 61-66, nothing to write home about.

He's also consistently made baseless guarantees making himself and his team look bad. He played Sanchez in a meaningless exhibition game 4, getting him injured and in Buffalo, put nepotism above the interest of the team by hiring his under-performing twin brother and entrusting the defense to him.

Let's also not forget that his M.O. has been to abdicate any control over offense to his under-qualified OCs including Baby Schotty and Tony Sparano.

9 years removed from his actual 1 year of success is a lifetime in the NFL. Ever since, his performances have been mediocre at best, his staffing decisions and priorities questionable and his behavior on and off the field (remember how he's pimped his wife out for his foot fetish) just plain embarrassing.

It's that sad mentality that fanbases in general have acquired. They see those championship game losses 9 years ago and think he will ride in here and save the franchise. They don't look beyond that and see the mess he left both the bills and jets in with his **** coaching. His defense is outdated, his coaching is poor and he shouldn't have a job with the Miami dolphins

Rex Ryan only as a DC. No as head coach. He'll wear out his welcome very quickly.

Well the front 7 is a shitshow so now would be the time again if you want to entertain a 3-4 front again.

Rex has credibility. Rex has swagger and attitude.

Guys, as long as TB is here and we are mucking up the FO situation with revolving chairs... we need to listen to ANY coach who has credibility and a track record of success.

We could do worse than Sexy Rexy.

Rex Ryan is not candidate for head coaching job, Barry Jackson confirms

Darren Rizzi is Assistant Head Coach. Dan Campbell is Assistant Head Coach for Saints. I don't see why not give them a chance? Rizzi doesn't have a good record as a head coach in college, but maybe he can do something.

Rex Ryan only as defensive coordinator. He is very defensive minded, and on offense he likes to run which is good and all, but teams that make the super bowl seem to be pass-heavy teams.

Rizzi has a passion for the game.
That is plus for him.
If Ross strikes out with the top candidates, Rizzi could be fall back option 5-7

His defense is always very tough.
They play as a TEAM.
He has always had subpar GM picking his talent pool.
I would love to see Miami field a Defense like Baltimore’s this year.
Like so many tired of mediocre team and effort.
Would also like a coach who punches back at the media jingles.

No and that's pretty much not going to happen. Grier already said he will not hire him.

Please bring back the Dislike / Thumbs Down button.

Rex had a hot start in New York, but imploded there. He then went to Buffalo and it was also a disaster. And I think the worst part of all, he would probably want to bring his brother Rob in as the DC. Rob is not good at all.
