Howdy folks. Just joined your board. I'm from LSU Tigerland and popped in to see how you like our coach. I watched your preseason game last night. I think you guys will do OK this year. One thing I did want to comment on since we've had a few years with Nick at LSU. As you know, he loves to blitz. He's known for complex blitz schemes. In college, it usually worked well but when it was picked up, LSU got burned for big plays. I'm not sure the pros will be quite so easily fooled. As you saw late in the game, your corners were left out there one on one and gave up some big plays.

Also, with the Saints as my pro team, we watched Ricky William's problems for 3 years before you guys got him. All I can say is :shakeno: . Hope he has changed but I won't be surprised if he hasn't.

Anyway, good luck to you this season.

Welcome to this site, it's the best site in the internet for Dolphins news.
As far as Saban's blitz schemes I wont worry about it too much, he has had some experienced with the browns and knows what works in the nfl. As far as Ricky...well Thats a whole different topic. Who knows what will happen with him.
Good luck with the Saints and LSU!

I've got to see it in action by players comfortable with the system first, but, well, that IS the danger with blitzes. He's obviously smart enough to figure out if it can work at the pro-level though.

Welcome.

We didn't scheme and we don't have to win pre season games. Don't read too much into positioning, etc. Also, this is a defense that's had less then a month of practice, you can't expect them all to be in perfect position.

Howdy(Believe me finfans all LSU fans don't say this!) - I'm a LSU fan and are familiar with the Saints as well. Let me clarify a few things about football - blitzes are called to put pressure on a quarterback which usually means they bring more people then the offense is able to contain. Meaning, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. But, I've been priviledged to see Sabans blitz schemes work a whole lot more often then not. I doubt he will use as many packages this year as he did at LSU the last couple of years, due to all the new people learning the system. One benefit is having Travis Daniels, who knows the system. Granted, Daniels isn't Surtain, but he'll be able to hold down the right or left side in a few years. Yes, he will get beat a few times this year but I'm sure Howard will as well.

Eventually, the fins will have the people Saban needs to bring the championship. Unfortunately, a lot of you will be disappointed it's not this year, but a lot of you will be happy it's not 4-12. I'm saying 8-8 this year a playoff birth next year and it will be on in 2007.

About Ricky in the Saints uniform, he did as good as any 3 year runningback. A little too much was expected for what the Saints gave up to draft him.

Hmm, a dolphintiger located in Texas. Talk about a fish out of water. Nice to meet you.

Yes Tiger fans are rabid as are any fans of their pro or college teams. Many were dissapointed when Saban left for Miami but many realized it had to happen one day. He was courted heavily after each year he was with us. Just glad to see him go to a class organization. I do hope he learns to divy up the work load. Don't see how he can possibly have his hand in every aspect of a football team. He'll burn out quick if he doesn't. Anyway, I'd like to see you guys dethrone some of those northeast AFC teams and bring the wins back to the south.

I also want to see your gators take care of South Carolina this year as well (I am not a Spurrier fan). Can't route for you for the overall SEC championship though ... my heart lies here in Tigertown.

True...but When He Has Larger Lb's Like In Cleveland, He Made It Work Well.
