So My friend comes over with his 5 year old son just prior to the game starting yesterday and I had the video game on. His son says... "I want to play video games" my friend says "No boy, we're about to watch the dolphins game" His 5 YEAR OLD SON says.... "But Why Daddy?.... The dolphins ALWAYS LOSE!" We both looked at each other in utter disbelief that this is how our kids view this franchise. And then they go out there and get their asses kicked like they did and his son who's just learning about scoring in football says.... "Daddy, the dolphins have 13 points and the other team has 38. The Dolphins Suck!" I almost spit out my beer in laughter because he speaks both English and Spanish so his English isn't the best just yet, but he said "The Dolphins Suck" in as perfect English and you can get.

If they don't get it together soon, it's going to be tougher and tougher for Dad's like us to convince our kids to even WATCH a dolphins game, let alone become a Fan! #LORDHELPUS

I watched The U, Part 2 the other night on ESPN. One of the old Canes summarized perfectly, "When you tore down the Orange Bowl you ripped away 50% of the heart and soul of this program."

Absolutely. I sat there in silence, while thinking the statement also applied to a different team, and beginning 20 years earlier.

You remind me of the old bitter guy who cant get over his ex who dumped him 20 years ago. Time to move on dude.....The Orange Bowl is dead, quit comparing every stadium endeavor to the the Orange Bowl. It was a great place for making noise, but it was a wretched facility. Get over it.

I know it is hard to hear right now but you guys are not far off from being a playoff team.

Obviously Adrian Peterson has not been disciplining this child ....

My 6 year old watches parts of the games with me and knows that Miami is the "good team" so we route for them.
More often then not, he asks, why does the "bad team" (whoever Miami is playing against) have more points?

Maybe the kid from the OP could explain it to my son, I don't have the heart to say it out loud....

LOL @ Why does the Bad team have more points? SMDH! Damn Dolphins.

My son is not even 2 yet so I haven't exposed him to the Dolphins and I'm not sure I ever will. My wife has a Dolphins cloth diaper that she sometimes puts him in. Earlier in the year I made her take it off him after I was so disgusted with a Dolphins performance.

As much as I would love to have my one-year-old daughter be a big Dolphins fan in the future, right now I'm contemplating whether or not to push her towards being one.

The whole idea of being a fan is to actually be happy with the team that you choose and it is something that I have not felt in a long long time.

Actually the Dolphins diaper would be perfect to hold a load of crap.

Yeah, he actually took a real nasty one in it the day before the Dolphins played Denver. Maybe that's why the defense disappeared for the rest of the year.

Pffft, bring her up right. As a teenaged Dolphins fan, she'll be too depressed about her team and wondering who the next coach will be to worry about boys. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches.

I don't care if the Jets don't win another game, I am raising my kids Jet fans. Sports are about more than wins and losses. there are good times and bad times in life and sports mirrors that. Some day Miami will be contenders again, until then suck it up whether it takes 5,10,15,20 more years. I have never seen my team in a SB and if it ever happens it will make it that much sweeter. I grew up in the 80s, I NEVER saw the Yankees in postseason until I was almost done w/ college, after that they have missed just 3 times. Times change, loyalty shouldn't and I will raise my kids to be loyal- to their family, friends, sports teams they play on and ones they root for.
