Can someone explain how this was not overturned? I was sure that was going to be our ball on the 20. I know every scoring play gets reviewed but I think there has to at least be some type of explanation by the ref.

I was debating with a couple friends what the correct ruling would have been. We said it should have been ruled a fumble and a touchback since it went out of bounds in the end zone.

Having said that I don't know how many times the Bills ran that play and it worked EVERY time. Watkins was soooo open each time they ran it, I was wondering if we had only one play where we could have an open receiver. Only once.

Yeah, the Sammy Watkins garbage was irking me. Why they kept choosing to play off him and allow him a free release is well beyond me. Forget for a moment that the kid doesn't like being pressed or contacted, he was wincing all game long due to lingering injuries from preseason. If Coyle would have had someone press and bump him off the line then run with him, he wouldn't have made the impact he did.

Not only that, it's not like EJ Manual has proven to be a an overly accurate passer or a guy that will burn you by making quick decisions with the ball while under duress. I thought the Dolphins should have played up on the WR's and played bump and run and throw blitz after blitz at EJ until he proved he can burn it consistently. That's essentially what smart defenses do to Tannehill and it works.

Supposed to be a touchback and our ball at the 20 down 16-10. They never reviewed the play, so that explains why it wasn't overturned. They went straight from that play to the extra point in a hurry.

Yup nice observation by the Blandino and the dolts in New York. Couldn't even challenge it because it was in their capable hands...
what I really loved was that showboat ref Mike Carey's gulp gulp explanation after the convert was kicked and the play was way past being reviewed. Real nice job guys!

Lol quit making excuses. Ball hit pylon. It's a touchdown. We got beat down. That wouldn't have changed the final outcome in the slightest.

The ball was fumbled and hit the pylon Mizfit. Grab some eyes.

He fumbled the ball into the endzone as soon as it touched the pylon. Then the ball went out of bounds. By rule, touchback. Dolphins ball on the 20. But hey, lets not even look at it. Let's just give them the call cause after all, Ralph Wilson was a really nice guy and we are in the state of NY so...hey give the opposition a touchdown here and there, that won't change the outcome of the game. Right Mizfit? The game was already lost so it doesn't matter that they got it all wrong...not!

I'd love it to be true, and can't find the clip anywhere, but the pylon can't cause a fumble unfortunately. If the ball popped out as soon as it hit the pylon it's a TD.

From what I remember, Grimes punched it out from behind him.

Pretty ****ed up since coaches are not allowed to challenge scoring plays.

If you pause it at 1:15 you can see right before he loses control momentarily, then regains control and then it becomes very vague. Personally one of those things that is too close and goes based on the call on the field. It's a tough one.

I just pulled the video, and watched it from by frame. He lost it before it hit the pylon, and then slapped at the ball as it's touching the pylon. He clearly lost control before the ball crossed the plain, and never recovered.
