The schedule is just an excuse on why MIA is struggling. MIA's overall offense was 10th last year. Last year MIA was efficient in the redzone with PA and Wildcat plays in the redzone...not so much this year as MIA is ultra conservative in the redzone. The O-line is supposed to be better but it looks worse as they break down when the game is on the line. Last year MIA took a lot more risks throwing ball... Joey Porter is not getting his sacks like he did last year even though he should be better with Jason Taylor at his side. And every one knows about Fasano and Y.Bell's disappointing play already, How could everybody at every position drop off so much from a season ago? It can't be the schedule right?

It's the mentality. There's no buy-in to the system like there was last year. Sparano's ways are not new and exciting anymore - it's business as usual for the Dolphins, and that's going to give you a natural regression.

Last year some of the success was based on the excitement and energy that Sparano brought, as well as a new and exciting offensive philosophy. Ta-da, the perfect recipe for establishing an IDENTITY and rallying every single player around the cause. Last year's new guys were fighting for last year's old guys, if you know what I mean. Team chemistry, brotherhood, all those sorts of things...

That is what caused them to play over their heads, without any pressure. Nothing was expected of them - the franchise was in shambles and winning 2 games would be an improvement.

Quite simply, the circumstances that enabled last year's magic are missing. Mostly same players, entirely different mentality.

but...but..it is just too easy to use that as a viable excuse!
