When we won a meaningless game late last year against a poor Minnesota Vikings team in dramatic fashion and Stephen Ross declared like a moron an extension for Joe Philbin to the press, you knew, I knew, we all knew deep down inside nothing good would come of this.
For the third straight year Joe was going to end the season at .500 or worse. His team once again coming up empty in the run for a wildcard spot. His team once again having slow starts and no emotional response.
Then we were all sold hype this offseason, distracted by yet another big free agency splash. But we knew deep down inside we were fooling ourselves as long as Joe Philbin shaped the identity of this team. That no matter how much talent we acquired, it's all worthless with the wrong leadership.
So as we sit out of the playoffs at 4-7, is anyone surprised? We knew this was a lost season last season. A whole year wasted.
The best part of all, Ross declared it an early Christmas present announcing Philbins extension after that Minnesota victory.
Merry Christmas!
