This is something I havent seen touched on too much, I just think we need to give some love to the sencondary. They played awesome today! I dont know how many times JP had a lot of time to throw the ball and just couldn't find an open reciever. That is something I know a lot of us fans were worried about coming into this game.

Also, we didnt blitz as much as I thought we were going to blitz. I thought we would be in there on JP all the time. I realize that Denver does have one of the top lines in the NFL, but I thought we would get to him more than what we did. It also seemed like when we did get to him he would just slip out of the grasp of our players.

man i only saw the last minutes of the games, you really think they did gret? im wondering how howard do?

if you saw only the last part of the game then what u saw was garbage yards.

You missed it, it was a treat watching our Defense play, great chemistry imo.

Madison looked like his old self. He has 2 pass defensed & broke up 2 more catches, & he didn't get ran on.

I thought we would really miss Surtain and that trading him would Haunt us all year but I should have known better because the patiots throw pretty much an cb in there system and we are going to run pretty much the same system.

The secondary played unbelieveably well. And the thing that I was most pleased to see was the tackiling. They didn't let any wr's get yac really.

I agree for the most part, however a few times their receivers got behind our DB's and Plummer just missed them. I realize that's gonna happen sometimes, but it happenned like 3 times. Hopefully we'll get that worked out before we see Coles next week.

yeah agree

It's true we made up for him pretty well, but we don't really play anything really like the Pats system other than the fact we change up our look quite a bit. We still rely on speed far more than they do, but I get your point...

They really did have an excellent game. Sam seemed rejuvenated, Howard was largely invisible (this a good thing, his man wasn't open and he wasn't gettig thrown at a ton) and daniels covered well too. Plus, as a few others have said, they all tackled. I was especially impressed with the coverage early in the game. There were several occasions on which Plummer had a lot of time, or eluded a rush to create time and the coverage was generally still there. I can only really think of that 1 time when Lelie got deep but he stopped running and Plummer overshot him.

Our defense was amazing. Denver coudl honestly not do a thing. Their points essentially came off of turnovers anyways. You take away the turnovers and Denver was lucky if they didn't go three and out.

Don't forget that in zone coverage your safties are just as vital as your corners. I think by having Jones and Schulters our secondary is alot better than people give them credit for. They may be old, but when playing zone the older the better. Just means you have experience and knowledge.

I think the entire defense played awesome. The secondary was a concern and they raised their game to another level. This defense has A LOT of pro bowl potential players. I think by the end of the year they'll have earned a nick name for the defense. Anyone have nickname ideas for the defense? I think D-Unit would be cool. Or maybe Ive been listening to too much 50 cent...
