The Secondary would have looked better if we had gotten more pressure on the QB. At the beginning of the game we had good pressure, but as the game went on the Jets adjusted and gave Chad the time he needed to make his throw. Howard got burned a couple times, and remember Daniels is a ROOKIE. For all of you Ronnie bashers ( for those that watched the game ) did you see the superb job of blocking and blitz pick that Ronnie did compared to the veteran RB C. Martin.

I agree 100%. Penny didnt get nearly the amount of pressure I would have hoped for..

And we blitzed the LBs plenty of times. That's very disconcerting. Is the Jet OL THAT good?

That is an obvious observation. Your secondary always looks great when the other team's QB is laying on his back or running for his life. That being said, I sure hope Saban can make some plans (blitzes) to get into Jake's face.

It is an obvious observation but it is evident... a pass rush helps a bad secondary, similarly a secondary helps a bad pss rush.

I honestly feel, the Jets just called better plays than us. They were just 1 step a head of us and always knew what we were doing.

You do understand it's very difficult to have a strong pass rush when a quarterback is taking short drops? Especially when our corners arent jamming the recievers?

TRUE! On the drive where Pennington went 7 for 7 and a touchdown after our touchdown we didn't get near him and didn't make a single play. Tebucky Jones had a chance for a pick hit him right in the hands and he dropped it. This is an example of plays that MUST be made on the road to change momentum and win games.

i agree, but some plays he lofted the ball way before a good rush or blitz could have gotten there

It seems like the Jets' O line has dominated our D line the last couple of times we have played....has anyone else noticed this?

i would hardly say they dominated Miami's D-line at all Sunday... but held their own and did enough to win... please...

Agreed, I think Saban's plan to compensate for the weak secondary is to have more pressure on the QB...as you said, we just didn't get it in the second half as we should have to protect our secondary... Howard, early in the game slipped several times when trying to turn out of his back-peddle and into his run...I don't know why exactly, it didn't appear that others were slipping. He also tends to take bad angles on his man, particularly in the zone coverages... Until he came here, he always played the Tony Dungy cover 2 CB...that is a departure from both Wannys press and Saban's zone-blitz coverage...it will take some time for him to adjust, but he is fast enough and will stick his body in to tackle willingly. Daniels is still a rook, and as such misdirection has been killing him...getting him caught out of position sometimes...Nothing that isn't fixable...I'm a little dissapointed in Schulters play.. He is an experienced enough FS that he should have caught on to Saban's scheme by now, but we'll see I guess. Jones is limited as to what he can do, but does know the scheme. He also likes to stick his head into the receivers as well.

One other good point you made, and as is Herm's MO, they made adjustments to what we were doing to them, both defensively and offensively. Hats off to him for that...that was something that Shanny didn't do the previous week.

Brown's going to be fine...he still has a tendency to dance a little, but not nearly as much as the first half of last week. He is also a little unsure of the lane he is supposed to be taking...he is running to the designed hole, not the actual hole that comes open in some cases...he needs to open his eyes prior to hitting the line...but, again as you pointed out...his blocking and blitz pickups were very good. His vision, as a runner will come back to him as he gains more experience. It's just a shame that our OL is playing so poorly, particularly in the run-blocking schemes...I really feel that Brown doesn't need gaping holes, just a crease...and then his power can take over...I was watching the Panthers game and I really think that Brown can be a Stephen Davis type of power inside runner if he gets a crease or two...of course, Davis was getting the whole left or right side open to him...Jordan Gross was excellent last week. (RT for the Panthers)... Once Brown starts to become some kind of a running threat, it'll really open things up for him in the short passing/screen game....could be exciting...

you can have the finest DB' that $ can buy, and face a mediocre QB. But with a weak pass rush, a mediocre QB WILL find a reciever! Face it DB's are damage control after the ball's thrown. Pass defense IS pass rush:shout: Go PHINS!

Martin rushed for 110+ yds in both games vs. Miami in ’04. Has gained 10+ yds on 40 of 378 career carries vs. Dolphins (10.6 pct.) (Jets have had 495 rush yards in the last 3 games against us while allowing only 6 sacks..their o line has played well)

On Sunday, there O line gave up 2 sacks...their rushing stats weren't solid on paper, but they made big runs when they needed them, dominate probably is a strong word, but holding their own enough to win is a drastic understatement.....please.... I personally hate the Jets, but they have taken 12 of 15 games against.....most likely doing a little more than just holding their own.
