Whats up guys!

I've been contributing to some threads as of late that are along the lines of "The Sky is Falling!" and such.... But I think its time to talk about what is good about this football team.

1) DRAFT Saban had a fantastic draft, and it seems like thats something we have to look forward to year after year, especially with the addition of Mueller.

- Ronnie Brown: Who else could possibly be ROY at this point, other than Brown? Everyone that was freaking out about him after his first two games sure shut up. This guy can do it all. I am SO happy with our #2 pick. He is going to be a beast for this franchise for years. Its not fair to compare anyone to LT -- but if you look at how Ronnie runs, the amount of tackles he breaks, etc.... This guy is a gem.

- Matt Roth: He has been in on some situations and shown that he can play. Obviously he needs to learn some pass rushing techniques. This stuff doesn't come over night though. He has the best teachers in the game, if Kevin Carter and JT will share half their knowledge, we've got another steal. I look for him to start the season after next and put up 10 - 12 sacks.

- Channing Crowder: STEAL of the draft. If there weren't some other beasts taken and had they not been doing so well, this guy would have a bid for DROY. He has a mean streak, makes sound tackles, and looks like he'll be a playmaker. He can play all the LB positions and is a quick learner.

- Travis Daniels: Another steal. Sure, he isn't the best CB out there. But we drafted him in the FOURTH ROUND! He is only going to get better, and we need him to do so. I remember when Surtain was a young guy... He wasn't the best but was serviceable. To get a starter in the 3 and 4 rounds is awesome.

2) O-LINE Lets face it guys, our line isn't the laughing stock of the league any more. And that says a lot in terms of improvement. Our guys are playing physical football, and giving our QB time to throw the ball. Our RB's have a high average per carry too.

With some more tweaking in the off-season, we're actually going to have a STRONG o-line. And the best part is: they are YOUNG. A young line that has nowhere to go but up is a great thing. And Houck is doing his job.

3) PHILOSOPHY No matter what the outcome of this season so far, everything seems different. We are more physical, we are a lot of the things that Saban wanted out of our team. We are committing a lot less penalties now as well. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Linehan situation... But I like the general direction of our team's philosophy.

4) INJURIES It seems we've avoided the injury bug a lot better than most teams.... knock on wood. Is this due to better coaching and practices? Better training? A lot of arguments could be made in this area. But it seems like its a positive to me.

5) SALARY CAP The biggest improvement... We are going to have serious dough to spend next year. I think it will make us an instant contender combined with whomever we draft. I think we'll resign Schulters and shore up with a few more veterans, and go after 2 big name guys.

I don't want to be a doomsday guy on here. I'm usually very positive, and I like a lot of the things I'm seeing with this team. Look what the Bengals and Marvin Lewis had to go through. I just hope it doesn't take that long.

Yes there have been some positives....and some negatives....isn't that just normal for us?

Great post, we have had some weaknesses like QB, dropped balls by Chambers, o-line penalties, and secondary. But we have improved so much over the past year. Atleast we have no shot of winning the games like last year. I'm glad of how every thing is going because were improving!

Come on man. You have to admit that we are a big improvement over last year, and we have a bright future. NO?

Good post - finally a positive post. It's amazing that it wasn't long ago Saban was hired and everybody knew it would be a rebuilding period and everybody was fine with that as long as things were headed in the right direction. Well folks, it's not even one year in and some folks are already impatient. We had 5 straight years of BAD personnel decisions - you don't fix that in 1 off season. This draft has been great. Stud RB, Starting LB, and DB, starting punter, 2 young DT's to groom for the future. The only questionable pickup may be Roth but it's only year 1. We had alot fo FA pickups that have worked out as well. This is a work in progress - see what talent we actually have and sort through the character guys. It takes time. I want Miami to win every week BUT if they are playing hard and competitive that is most important at this stage to me. They are not a SB team - sorry no way in hell. The difference in 8-8 and 6-10 is a few picks higher in the draft so losing these close games sucks but come draft day it won't be such a bad thing. Let this coaching staff learn the players and identify what they need in the offseason. Let Mueller work his stuff to get it. We have a great organization in place in only 1 year. Just think about last year with Wanny and Spielman and compare that with now. Don't just look at the record - look at the foundation Miami is building. We all said it will take at least 2-3 years so give it time. We want this team competing every year. The whole league has been very positive on Miami and where they are headed. The fans should be as well!!

I was excited before the season, and i am even more now. I doubt it will take as long as the bengals to get back up. Especially since it appears the jets will be rebuilding next year, Mularkey might get canned, and the pats need to re-plenish with sime youth.

The O-line is playing better. Only time will tell if the Dolphins future will be bright...in three years....my best guess.

Great post. The biggest positive is that Miami is putting the foundation together starting with a potential dominant running attack. Ronnie Brown is clearly a great back and should only get better if he stays healthy.

Agree on the offensive line. What an improvement from last year! Gus has hardly been touched the last couple of weeks and the unit has cut way back on penalties. I think its mostly coaching because I am not convinced the talent is there, but then again you can't argue with the results. Maybe the team doesn't need to spend a high pick on this area.

Saban still has a long ways to go, but you have to love his first draft, the energy the team has and the overall direction.

see sometimes i just don't bet you...here you make some sense...but in other posts....you make no sense...you've been saying how we beat the Pats will a worse team last year.

Go Fins!!!

We did. Whats so hard to understand? I never said I expected the Dolphins to be a playoff team this season....but I also don't believe they were a true 4-12 team last season.

I tried to make this post positive, but nobody wants to talk about what is positive. It kinda stinks. I was also accused of Chambers bashing it seems in another thread. I'm just pointing stuff out.

We're going to be a solid team. We need a QB, WR, LT, C, and CB.

Relax...it's just hard times. There's good and bad in all things....we just need some more good....it will take time.

Although I agree, can't bring myself to elaborate much, still pissed, 24 hour rule ;)

HAHAHA - yeah I hear you. But honestly, our offense was CLICKING at points yesterday. We are going to get into the groove. We just need to get through this crap.
