Dolfans, believe me when I tell you this, I feel your pain. However, I'm of pretty optimistic attitude. Thing's aren't as bad as they appear to be. We have a solid team, i repeat a SOLID team. We don't have a great team, or a bad team; once again we have solid team. Our main weaknesses occur in offensive line and our defensive backfield. However we have prooved that we can win with our THIS team. Those 2 problems will be there all season, but we have shown that we can improve these two aspects of our team. However, our team needs to be given the oppurtonity to compete. In all three of our loses, our oppurtonity has been taken away by PENALTIES! If we weren't hurting ourselves with stupid penalties, I believe we could have won all three games we've lost. Regardless of what people say, penalties should be faulted to our coaching. Coaches should put pressure on players to play smart. I've been pretty dissapointed with Saban's attitude toward our penalty problem, he seems to want the players to force responsibilty on themselves to fix it. However, i completely disagree. Nick should use his muscle and deal with the offenders strictly. Players should know that if they commit a stupid penalty, they are due for harsh treatment by nick. Wether that be in fines, extra practice, etc. The point is, if we want to be competitative this year, Nick is going to have to step in and correct this problem. We learned this week that the player's 'self discipline' will NOT work. We've paid our coach big bucks to fix this team...now this is his oppurtonity to show us if he's worth all that money. Just my two cents....
