Active Roster
I’m sure a lot of you guys approached this season like myself, not knowing what to expect. We knew we had the talent to win games, we just didn’t know how things would come together since we had failed to win games when we needed to throughout the previous seasons. Along with that, we also had a new head coach and staff which usually means the team will take some time to gel.
Despite that, the believers still believed. I felt like this was a 9- to 11 win team from the jump. Just based off of the type of games we had been in and the type of teams we had beat in the past couple years. We have seen our Fins beat numerous playoffs team. Seattle at home, the Steelers on the road in cold conditions, went toe-to-toe with the Broncos and Green Bay, beat up the Texans, etc. There were plenty of games that showed the believers that our Fins were capable of beating any team on any given sunday, we just weren’t consistent and that’s where the issue lied.
Under the previous staff we always showed glimpses of our potential. With our current staff we’ve fought and at times where the game could go either way we found a way to win. That’s the major difference between this years team and the Dolphins teams in the past, they fight! Football is a mental game and if your team has confidence that they can go in and compete with any team and you measure up slightly, you’ll have an edge and that’s what I’ve seen.
Hats off to Gase and his staff because honestly, we shouldn’t be here based on the circumstances. We played the first quarter of the season with a make shift offensive line, we lost a our pro bowl safety who anchored the secondary and a pro bowl center who anchored the offensive line, our secondary is banged up (Isa and Maxwell), our Line Backing core isn’t very good, and we lost our starting QB to an injury. Despite all that’s happened throughout the course of the season we’ve still found a way to fight our way into the playoffs.
Tomorrow as 10 point dogs we walk into to Heinz field to take on the big bad Pittsburgh Steelers. There’s no pressure because we’re banged up and starting a backup QB. Nobody in the world is giving us a shot, but real Fin fans know. We know despite all that’s happened throughout the year we still found a way to win games even though the circumstances told us we weren’t supposed to. We feel good, because our team fights no matter the circumstances. A lot of people would be surprised if the Dolphins walked away from tomorrow’s game with a win, but not us. We know our team, and we’ve seen the way they “STRAIN” each play. No matter what happens tomorrow I’m proud to be a Miami Dolphins fan, but let’s go get this freaking W! #FINSUP
