I have been reading about the fins for the upcoming season and I find that the naysayers("experts" or others) seem to focus on the fact that in the 6 game win streak, the fins beat only one playoff team who was resting players. My question is why do these folks overlook the fact that miami beat 2 of the final four teams left at the end of the season? They not only beat denver, they destroyed them. They also beat carolina. They also beat san diego AT san diego when they were still very much alive in the playoff race. I don't know if anyone commented on the bronco and panther victoies but it seems to me that the fins beat some very quality competition last year when nobody gave them much of a chance. Did every team pittsburgh beat last year make it to the playoffs? It is always interesting to see people focus on who was beaten when looking at teams sitting where the fins are going into the coming season. They are a sexy pick right now and have weaknesses but to criticize competition is just silly. Six straight to finish + beating both Carolina and Denver really points to a very good squad. We will see becasue as Berman says "Thats why they play the game".

i think we should all have optimism after the 6 game winning streak especially with the addition of culpepper...also another year of saban and upgrades at offensive line and in the secondary...

well, the "experts" can say what ever the hell they want and I don't care one wit. The BIGGEST boogieman we had was the the late season, December swoon. Year after year, it didn't matter how good we were supposed to be we found a way to lose. How many of those "vaunted" playoff games under JJ and Wanny were earned by backing into the playoffs. How many times did we hold our own destiny in our hands only to lose to a crappy team. Anyone else remember the embarrassing "hoping" someone "helps" us? I fully recognize that we were not a "Superbowl" quality team last year during our run in December, but by playing a full sixty minutes, by remaining relentless we managed to do something we hadn't done in a long long time...win out. I was furious at all the morons that kept saying we needed to bilge the final games to get a better draft pick...and I hope those fellas remain in hiding. All in all, we opened the season by beating a better team which shut up the media "haters"...it would have sucked to lose that game... and we closed by beating six teams in a row, only the Steelers had such a streak(I think) I am PROUD of my team. First year in the house and Nick shreds our biggest boogieman. Go Dolphins !

Last year was last year. It's history.

The important streak now starts with the Steelers.

We did also come back against the Bills from being way behind and we beat San Diego who would have made the playoffs had we not beat them. We were playing hard against New England before they took their starters out anyway. I ain't sweatin' it. Six NFL teams we beat in a row. Not too shabby.

Couldn't agree with you more.Winnning out in Dec. priceless. If nothing else that is the biggest thing our team did last year.I have about forgot what a win in Dec.was like.

6 Wins in the NFL is no easy task by any means. Seems to me, that the Pats came to Miami in 2004 with a 5 game streak and got handed a big fat loss by a team that they were supposed to beat. In the NFL on any given Sunday any team can beat another, all teams are dangerous it's all about how bad you want the win and TEAM work.

Okay..... question. When the Pats were on their streak, they don't say anything about them going up against "weak" opponents?

I just hate the way they do that. They pick us apart, but talk trash about the Pat's it's inconceivable. Even last year when they were sputtering and the analysts were saying this guy was hurt and that guy was hurt none of them would say hey they will be lucky to make the playoff's.

What about when teams start the season off on a 6 game winning streak? How is that any different than finishing with a 6 game streak? Why aren't they trashing those teams?!?!?

Thats why I hardley ever read what the national sports casters have to say about my beloved fins. They're just stupid when it comes to us.

The first few games of the season some teams have new Offences as well as players so it's hard for some teams to get it going. In the last half of the season teams have come together and work more as a unit, have there game plans down and can study film as to what there opponents game plan is. IMHO

They always got somethin negative to say ... people always talk as if the chargers are the best team and could have legitimately won the super bowl, yet everyone forgets that THE DOLPHINS ALSO BEAT THEM IN THEIR OWN HOUSE
