DAVIE — This came after a two-hour Dolphins practice Wednesday in another late-August sun. Reggie Bush, still sweating, stayed on the field, the only player to do so.

The other Dolphins moved from the heat to the locker room. Bush caught footballs flung from a machine, fastball-style, depositing each one in a large trash can after the catch. After filling two trash cans, he moved to a side field and began running 30-yard sprints. One after another after another.

Teammate Vontae Davis, finished with an interview, watched a few seconds before shaking his head, saying, "Man," and continuing to the locker room. Reporters debated whether Bush would go to the blocking sled, because that's often a preferred stop.

This, then, has become the surprise of the Dolphins preseason. Jimmy Wilson looks like a seventh-round gem. Charles Clay might grow into a role. Brian Daboll's offense offers to make a flat world round.

But these 20 minutes of watching Bush alone on the field, day after day, are the surprise of preseason considering the faraway reputation.

Def check out the rest of the article. BUT MAN. I love this addition more and more every DAY!!! Cant wait to see him in the Phins new offense all year. I think he was the perfect fit overall. At first i wanted Deangelo but i think for the spread offense that Reggie is the perfect fit.

Anyways enjoy the rest the article: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-hyde-miami-dolphins-0827-20110826,0,6300473.column

makes me think deangelo and bradshaw were just formalities and bush is really who we were after.

I agree plus there were whispers all offseason we would be players in the reggie sweepstakes if he hit the market. I think he was option one all along.

Deangelo and Ahmad were free agents but it wouldn't surprise me if that was true. However, I think it's more about adjusting the offense to the players strength. Daboll is taking advantage of Bush's versatility by designing plays that puts Reggie in space as much as possible.

If Bradshaw or D. Williams were signed, Daboll would design the offense that fits their strengths as well.

I think Deangelo was option one until the Panthers offered to make him one of the highest paid running back in the NFL.

I must have missed all those Bush to Miami rumors all offseason. I do recall alot of Deangelo to Miami conversations.

If Reggie stays healthy, I think he'll outproduce Deangelo and Ahmad. He sounds hungry and willing to put this team on his back and carry them into the playoffs.

anyone else concerned that Reggie is the ONLY Dolphin player giving that extra effort

It's interesting how the media tries to insinuate that Bush had work ethic problems or was somehow a prima donna, when it's actually the farthest from the truth...he's always worked this hard.

Also we're paying Reggie about 5 mil a year and those other guys got about double that I believe.

I think we still need a Reggie type back up in case of injury. Especially since we're building the offense around his abilities.

Thomas may turn out to be good but he cann't strech the defense.

I must admit that I was skeptical about the Bush signing. I thought he was a finesse runner that shy's away from contact. He is also faster than I thought. Got to admit that Ireland made another good signing. Bush looks like a super star. I still wish Ricky was here to complement him. I am worried about Thomas and Hilliard now. If Bush does go down, we are in deep doo with Larry Johnson.

Bush probably has a big chip on his shoulder...he want to make N.O. regret is departure and he wants to clearly be mentioned with the best backs in the NFL. This is definitely a great situation for the Fins. If he can carry the RB load all season, we will be knocking off some of the favorites. We really need him against the Patriots, Texans, and Jets in the 1st quarter of the season. If he is playing well, I think we will win 3 of those first 4 games.

it's surprising when I read/hear people say that about his speed...he ran a 4.33 official 40 at his pro day...which was electronic SPARQ timed..maybe only Chris Johnson is faster among RBs.

Sometimes 40 yard speed doesn't translate to pads on the field with some players. I kind of had him in that category. Bush is fast with pad and the ball. I DVRed the game against the Panthers and he out ran the safeties that had the angle on him on the edge. Very impressive speed.

Obviously, I'm biased, but I think you guys got the steal of the off season...unlike a lot of USC fans, I will always see him as the guy who brought our program back into the spotlight...Without him, we're just another ho hum top 15 school..with him, dominant. And then going to New Orleans...I don't think he was used properly, and suffered injuries..Now you get a guy on the cheap who has as much raw physical talent as anyone in the league....I hope he comes through.

I don't know about concern, but I do wish some of the other players would follow his lead.
