How is it that the angry leprechaun gets immediately reinstated and the other players from non preferred teams do not. This is like Washington (the corrupt titular head of our government - not the football team). We have some nice quid pro quo going on. Can't let the primary weapon of Peyton manning serve out his suspension. Jerry jones gets two of his players pardoned because hey - it's the cowboys. Goodell has to make sure he's protecting the teams that have favored status. Never mind the fairness of it. You can give me all the excuses in the world why some players are not pardoned, while others who took the same illegal substance are allowed to come back. The league year hadn't started yet that's why Jordan doesn't get reinstated. Or Jones had a previous violation un reported (that's convenient - how did this violation make it out to the public if failed tests are supposed to remain confidential?) Lois Lerner - er- roger Goodell swears that the emails were just lost. And you wonder why people question the credibility of the leak. So much for transparency.

Yeah something's fishy. Welker said when he got busted he was going to try with all his might to fight for what's right.... yet, the only ppl affected by the results are 2 guys and him...just in time for the Seahawks rematch, no less.
I hate to be tinfoil-hat conspiracy man, but I'm sure Welker has an in with Kraft and Goodell, being the former Pats superstar that he was, and currently on one of the NFL's hottest new SB challengers.

The NFL caters to their favorite kids, the Mannings, Patriots Cowboys & Ravens & the beloved....Harbaugh boys? The Dolphins are the red headed step child of the NFL.

Its not rigged. The NFLPA would be all over this - they know what the bylaws are and they have each players' test results. There are rules and the NFL league offices has to follow them.

Right. And only the computers that have the damning evidence just happened to crash. Sure.

At least we won't have to face Adrian Peterson this year. That would have sucked for the Patriots to get the mulligan and everybody else in the division gets screwed by facing him.

And why did they decide to make it after this league year? Who made that decision? I guess the broncos are fortunate the Kentucky derby is in February, right?

It's not after this league but the beginning of the 2014 league year which began on March 11th and it's a date both the NFL and NFLPA agreed upon.

BTW, The Kentucky Derby was in May.

I said this when the story first broke:

I have a feeling a possible reinstatement will be specific to Welker, Johnny Football's teammate Josh Gordon and a few random Dallas Cowboys players...

My reasoning for throwing a few random Dallas Cowboys in there was the Micheal Sam signing...

Right. Because the players union represents all players fairly. They would never throw bottom of the roster types under the bus.

Right but they didn't have to use that as the new rule going forward. They could easily have said it's not retroactive or chosen for it to be retroactive back to 2013. That was just what they chose. Not really representing all of the players are they? And you don't have to go back farther than that because any farther and the suspensions would have already been served. They could have done it that way (retroactive to league year 2013) or not retroactive at all. They (nflpa) could have chosen not reinstate anyone out of fairness. They didn't do that. And welker gets to play against the Seahawks this weekend and he committed the same crime as Jordan only he did it later in the offseason. So he's ok. They both had a first violation in the off season. They both should face the same judgement.

If Dion Jordan was a bronco or a patsy you can bet he'd be reinstated for this weekend.

NFL needs a new commish, Goodell has soiled the NFL enough already.
