Know what I find kind of odd. Is that we still can't find an offensive system that works, and is tolerant of players deficiencies. Like the patriots nay sayers will say that the Pats QBs are a product of the system, a system that clearly works regardless of who is qb. We see and prepare for the Pats twice a year, I think it's kind of crazy we haven't found a way to mimic or improve on that system. It's not like we are a team that sees them once every four years. I feel like after seeing it for 15+ years we should have some solid take aways on how to run an offense, and we are light years away from them. They are going to be on a short week, with a third string rookie qb, no gronks, a washed up on, and I can all but bet my life on they will won that game going away, and roll an offense out that works better than ours. What is it about this team that we never look like we are heading in the right direction.

yes yet some people think we got better by making it a game in the second half. Yesterday was a horrid game all game.

I think it is week 2 of a new system...it is week 2 for every single player on the offense so you are going to have miscues and issues as player learn and understand how it works. In New England, they have run that system for 15 years...most of the players have experience in the system and they know the nuances of the system, so throwing a new player from time to time, even the QB doesn't have as big of an impact as it does when you are throwing the entire offense into a new system,

It's been two games, going to need more time for it be running on all cylinders. The second half showed what this system is capable of.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. If they really tried to study they should be able to mimic it some way. I mean New England always seems to pick up player out of someone else's garbage heap and then have that player seriously contribute. They've done it over and over. Another thing I've noticed over the years is their defense very rarely misses tackles. Watching Miami sometimes is infuriating how so many of the players cannot seem to shed blocks. How many times have you seen opponents running backs running untouched for 7 to 10 yards. You would think Miami would try picking up discarded New England players and pick their minds. Hell, I would go so far as to start videotaping their practices :-)

Well put. They've also been drafting for their system for 15 years and know what type of players to look for.

"the system" is 2 weeks old. Judge it after 10.

I remember beating Brady 30-0 in his early days of running that O, and then by the end of the year they were rolling and went on to win a super bowl. Can we have just a little time to learn and hopefully role in our new system too.

I will agree but don't see this as a 'Miami' problem. At a minimum, Jets and Bills have failed in mimicry and I can make a case most of the NFL has failed. Let's not pin this on Miami as if all other teams are superior. It's like dink and dunk. NE does it and gets to the SB = genius. Other teams (e.g., Miami) try it and fans rail against it. But, as others have said, they've had years to match players to system.

The issue is it takes us decades to "find" that system. before we know it Tannehill will have grandchildren and we will need a new QB. Other successful teams don't spin their wheels for a decade or else they're Cleveland or Dolphins.

If it was so easy to emulate what the Patriots have done since 2001, every NFL team would do it. It's the same as my Spurs in the NBA. If it was so easy to have a winning percentage of .700 for 19 years, other teams would emulate how they ran their team.

This Season will be a macrocosm of that ugly game... we will start slowly and improve in the second half. The most important position on the team is a rookie... Gase... give him the time to mature and learn on the job...
