This term unParcellian draft really annoys me. We got big corners and we know Bill likes big players.

And for goodness sakes Pat White wasn't a Tony or Ireland pick, it was a Parcells pick.. Charley Casserly (who he considers Parcells his best friend), said that Parcells told him a year ago that if Pat White was there with the first 2nd round pick, that he would pick him. Parcells is in love with the kid and thinks he is everything a football player should be. A leader, a winner, smart, disciplined (no fumbles on 650 rushes). As per Charley Casserly, who again, considers Parcells his best friend.

The guy who works on Monday night countdown echoed that sentiment on his blog right after the pick. He said Parcells asked him for Arkansas gametapes when Parcells was out of football while he was working monday night countdown. Parcells saw the gametapes and was fascinated with the wildcat formations. Then when Parcells becomes Miami's president, he immediately hires David Lee from Arkansas, the founder of the wildcat there.

Make no mistake about it, Pat White was a Parcells pick all the way. And it was Parcells who was the true orchestator of the Wildcat coming to Miami and being a staple in our offense.

Then Miami drafts two big WR's who are tough. Again, big and tough are Parcells traits in what he looks for in a football Player. John Nalbone personally practiced in front of Tony Sparano.. Sparano went to see the boy play and was enamored with him. Nalbone is another tough guy, and Parcells loves his tight ends and knows what to look for in them.

Then gets an O-tackle who is yet another tough Mofo. And a guy who was seen by some as a 4th round guy if not for his injury.

Wake up. This was clearly a Parcells draft.

I prefer the holy trinity.

And search for it, the term unparcellian has been beaten to death.

On this board all day every day and never saw UnParcellian... Good post though, I also think the Trifecta is laim.

Alright, I have seen the term quite a bit. Don't know how much you are paying attention.

But forget about the term for a moment here. The point is, Pat White was clearly a Parcells pick when you see the evidence.. A lot of people think it was a Sparano, David Lee and/or Ireland pick. It was Parcells all the way as he was in love with the player "over" a year ago. And Parcells told Casserly soon after the JT trade that if Pat White was there with the first 2nd rounder, that Miami was going to take White no matter who is on the board.

All coming from Casserly- who has a good reputation, has always been a professional, is best friends with Parcells, and has no reason to lie about such a thing.

I wish we could get rid of 'apologists'

No, that's a splendid term. It carries just enough putdown to make the recipients boil. And it's so unspecific you virtually have to assign yourself to the list. Posters step back and say, "Wait, is he talking about me?" :chuckle:

it seems everyone is an apologist from time to time.

This draft has me alternatly aprehensive and excited all at the same time.
The risks and the rewards are there.

That's funny, I made up that word on the fly in the draft forum on saturday, "UnParcellian." Spelled and capitalized the same way. No idea it was going to warrant a thread. I had wanted to say unconventional, but got lazy and choose that word. Personally since it came from my brain, I like the word. Does that make me an apologist?

Well it couldn't be a BP draft because if you'll remember Gil Brandt was told by BP that he had his eye on a certain LB who was flying under the radar... And Brandt is BPs best friend... :chuckle: So apparently Larry English was that "under the radar" OLB and once he was heisted..., BP played "straws" with his picks...
