Hum just a couple of thoughts first the conservative play calling with Tua which is understandable for the points Kris mentioned. Upon watching the Bills game last night this would be week to take the gloves off Tua and let it fly if we have a chance to beat the Bills at home or just start Fitz cause imo we will have a very hard time winning with our current approach.
Second more of a question than a statement on the draft is Sewell just that huge of a difference than drafting the top center later in the draft and yes we do need a linebacker or linebackers in this year's draft especially inside as we are soft against the run plus Roberts and Van Noy are getting pretty beat up.
In this Episode, the guys talk about the hypothetical trade for Deshaun Watson, the anonymous comments some teammates made about Tua Tagovailoa, and close with the offensive coordinator search.
Great pod Alf, but you didn't even consider the cap ramifications (15 mill this year 40 mill next year for Watson plus a 15 mill dead cap for trading Tua) of trading for Watson and 3 firsts plus Tua will not be enough. The closest comp you can get is the 3 firsts and a 2nd the Eagles and then Skins gave to move up in drafts for unproven 2nd best QB in the draft, Wentz and RG3 !! You are right Houston aren't selling this to their fan base unless they are screwing another teams for a huge haul, especially to us who screwed them in the Tunsil trade. The conversation will start at all our 1's, all our 2's, plus Tua this year and perhaps our 1 next but I guess that's fine because we have no cap space to sign the rookie class anymore !!
Trading for Watson makes no sense, I also don't buy your take on Watson having 17 years left in the game playing at this level, the way he plays the game is so different to how Brady and Brees do and the 36 year old Rodgers does. He relies on the athletic ability to extend plays, as you mention he holds the ball way longer than most, that's not a sustainable style of play for longevity in the league, age is going to slow him down at some point and that takes away a lot from his game.
