No lies folks, this past saturday I was telling someone that we should try to get Lemon from san diego. Since he was 3rd string lurking behind the 2 high dollar qb's over there. I saw him play twice this preaseason. In one game if I recall correctly he was 12-12 in passing at one point. Even if it was against 2nd stringers, I think he showed great improvement in accuracy and velocity.
Everybody wants to have "the payton manning", trust me folks you have to take a chance in order to get lucky. In my opinion this guy is an upgrade to our current qb roster. Trust me and write this down, let him learn the system and you will see he is a vast improvement of our current staff. People in San Diego are not too happy about getting feeley for Lemon. The qb situation over there really allowed us to pick this guy up.
Ill be one to say Good Job Nick in picking this guy up and thanks for trying to erase all of spielman and wanstache memories.
Start Lemon,

I really hope you`re right, good post!

seems to me as if it is an upgrade. the guy can sure scramble and seems to have been developing a nice touch on the deep passes lately (something that Linehan must've loved). Feeley had absolutely no pocket presence, telegraphed his passes, and threw the short stuff way too hard.
I don't imagine that Lemon is our Qb of the future or anything, but I do think he is an improvement over what we had with Feeley this year. Hopefully he'll get a little playing time this year. Factor in the two million or so that we'll save off the cap next year, and it was a smart trade for us.

Randy Mueller had Jake Delhomme, Marc Bulger, Aaron Brooks, and Jeff Blake at one time as GM. 3 are now starting in the NFL, and are good players. Jeff Blake is now a back up in Chicago, he was the starter at that time. You never know with backup QB's, you have to see something and take a chance. Speil took a chance by wasting a 2nd rounder, we just traded a bust for this guy and a pick. How anyone says this is a bad trade when AJ Feeley was due 3 million this offseason and Lemon is due base salary which is 1/10th of that.

This is just a roll of the dice. I'm happy with it because:

A) We gave up on AJ Feeley instead of dragging out the failed experiment longer than needed

B) As far as rolls of the dice go, this one is a pretty decent roll, IMO.

Lemon should get the jersey number 7 and strike an endorsement deal with 7-up! The possibilities are endless!

Agree, its a good trade. Always wanted Feeley to work out but he didn't and never would have. It's the right decision to cut our losses and move on.

The AJ Fiedler, Jay Feeley curse is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys are lucky to have Cleo. He has a cannon of an arm and he can scramble. He was a waste of talent behind Brees and Rivers. I still like Lemon better than the both of them. I hope he gets a chance to start for you guys.

That has to be a good thing.

Feeley was no long term answer and now we have a team in motion at least. I don't know a thing about The Lemon but it saves money, gets a pick, and helps us move on. The AJ Fiedler, Jay Feeley curse is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!
