After Miami signs a DC I think all attention needs to be shifted to securing a NT. It is a DT heavy draft, but there is only one true NT predicted to be a NT, and that is Cody from Alabama. It is very early, and these guys have not gone to the combine, but I think Cody is a stretch at 12, and we could easily address this position in FA. I really like Richard Seymour as an option. He is still pretty young at 30, and I love how he has a chip on his shoulder against New England. I also love 6'6'' and his ability to tip passes and kicks, but most of all I love that he is huge, but is also a threat to rush the QB. Seymour was one of the brightest spots for the Raiders this year. I think the majority of teams will be looking at Willfork, but he will be very expensive, and is not as a versatile as Seymour. If Ferguson plays another year Seymour could be used as a NT and DE, and could sure up one of our biggest holes, and allow us more freedom in the draft.

Then all eyes need to shift to WR in my opinion. I think FS and ILB are bigger needs, but I do not think our need at WR can be addressed in the draft as FS and ILB can be. We don't just need a WR we only need a #1 WR. Dez is the only WR in the draft who is thought to have that kind of talent, and he did not play in 2009. We also do not know if he will be available when we pick. I do not think this is a make or break need for the next season to be a sucsess, but if a talent like Marshall is available we would be crazy not to make a play for him. He made Orton look like a decent starting QB, so I beg you to imagine how good he could make a young QB with a rocket arm, like Henne, look. If we can't get Marshall I would love to see a vet like Bryant or Chambers who might step up and become a #1, but will also help our bevy of young talent at WR improve.

If we can address those two needs we can go in to April with a lot more freedom. At 12 I love McClain if he is available, but we could also be free to trade up for a player like Berry, or trade down if someone falls in love with a QB who might fall to 12. I am also falling in love with taking Spiller. I know defense is the reason we had 9 losses this season, but Spiller is a game changer and this team desperately needs a home run threat. I also love Spiller because he can return punts, line up as a WR, and cause match ups nightmares in the wild cat.

I don't see how Seymour is a fit - big money for an older DE - not age wise but mileage wise. Also, how could he play NT? 6'6" is too tall for NT and he is not a fat slob like Wolfork where 2 guys can't move him. I think Wilfork is gone from NE no doubt. They drafted Brace last year and they won't pay him what other teams will. I don't think I would want that fat slob in Miami but he would be an upgrade over Fergie.

People need to stop thinking anyone in the 1st rd at WR. These guys are drafting defense and then more defense. This team will win with D and running the ball and our D is not very good now. They could go any position other than DE (so that is probably where the pick will be) and it would be a big need on defense. Not 1 group was dominant. DE is the best we have and that is because Starks became such a beast. DB, Safety, LB (both ILB and OLB), and NT and we should all be pumped because it's such a need.

Why are we sticking with a 3-4 when we don't have a good NT and our LB's are all aging/slow. Perhaps its time to convert back to a 4-3?

Is there a way we can get McLain, Dez Bryant and CJ Spiller with only one pick in the 1st round? Can someone call the Raiders please? Or call wherever Rick Spielman is running the show at the moment.....

Seymour gets tagged, no way they trade a 1st and then let him walk. Seymour as a DE would be great, I'll pass as a nose but he won't be available.

McClain won't make it to us, KC, Oak and Denver could easily fall in love with him and be their pick. KC needs 34 defensive players and are going to let D.Johnson walk, Oakland won't go QB because AL still thinks JR can play, they could go Spiller (speed factor) or an overrated DE like Dunlap, Denver needs 34 defense and probably WR because of Marshal.

McClain is the pick no matter what if he's there but because he won't be I am more incline to see a trade back. Then getting a Spikes, Weatherspoon or E.Thomas makes more sense while adding more picks.

And then trade those three for Eric Berry.
