I wonder if we even offered him a contract as a UDFA? As an IDL, if he had the choice of Miami or the Jets, I'd have guessed he'd see more opportunity to make the 53 with Miami. IMO, the Jets IDL contingent is stronger and deeper than Miami's. Could be we did, and the Jets just offered more guaranteed $$. Miami is his hometown and where he went to HS too at Miami Palmetto.
Uphill battle to just make the team, but one more time on Murphy - 6'2", 252, 4.52 40, 10-5 broad jump, 37 vert. Led the NATION in qb pressures the last 3 years. Led the NATION in qb hits last year. Yes, he needs work on run defense, and is a little short, but C'MON - a UDFA?!
