Gase sure loves his slogans and t-shirts:

The way Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase tries to connect with his players reminds of the way many college football coaches try to do the same.

Gase views football as more than a business and views players as more than chess pieces, or robots.

And so it makes sense that Gase has been sporting a “University of Davie” T-Shirt around training camp.

It's crazy how Gase wants to test his players more than pieces on the board and yet you look at a guy like Belichick, to me at least, seems like all he does is treat players like game pieces and robots. With the exception of a few at least.

I think that's viewed b/c of the mutiple roles he plays for NE. As GM you must treat the team as a business, from a HC standpoint I've heard and read differently concerning his relationships with players off the field.

“To be great on the field, you have to be emotional. To be great upstairs in the front office, you have to be robotic,” Phil Savage, who worked under Belichick with the Cleveland Browns, told ESPN the Magazine in a story from October. “The way he can separate in his mind the deep, personal relationships he has to have with his players downstairs in the locker room, on the field and in games, versus the business reality of looking at the same exact players from a strictly financial standpoint, as commodities, when he switches hats upstairs in the front office — that’s not just incredibly hard, that’s almost impossible.”

. . .

“I have a really good relationship with Bill,” running back LeGarrette Blount said, via CSNNE.com. “I love Bill to death. He’s always had my back from the beginning, from the first time I met him. I think he’s probably going to have it forever. We just have a really great relationship. I like everything that he does, I respect him a lot. I think he’s going to go down in history as the best coach to ever coach this game.”
