Why when SF offered Smith $8 million per year it made sense and no one said he wan't worth it...when the fins look to sign him to the same deal they are significantly overpaying?

I don't know that Smith is a bad value as a starter at 8 million a year. I just don't want him on theh team because I don't think he's very good. I think this team is much better off rolling with Matt Moore and a rookie.

Yeah I agree, I don't view Alex Smith as an upgrade to Matt Moore - and I'm not that high on Moore either, but to me they are about equal so keep the one who is under contract (and a cheaper contract at that), and spend the money elsewhere.

  can matt moore learn the new offence? how does he feel now that we have brought in everybody and thier mom for a meeting? what if he is the one were looking for, how can anyone deny what alex smith did last year? wc qb for philbins wc system, im so mixed up right now that i would sign alex smith. you know tannehill wont be there when we pick, say hello to weeden, im losing faith but i poop aqua and orange, i need some vicodin and a beer,,,, sorry for the rambling guys

Personally, I think it's a laughable notion that Matt Moore will be so offended that we've kicked the tires on a bunch of guys that he will tank the season or not give it a full effort.

The guy is a competitor, this is just going to make him want to prove everyone wrong if he does wind up being our starter.
