The Wes Welker Problem

I have this friend who knows very little about Miami and he bases how good players are by there madden overalls. Anyways hes always blasting me and saying Miami was stupid for trading such an amazing reciever :sidelol: i know cracks me up every time. Welker was never anything great here even in 05 with Gus he was at best average. Anyone else have that problem?

The Madden ratings, to an extent, are based on his performance in 2007.

Well, if he didn't play on NE in 2007, his stats would've been MUCH worse (average).
Thus, his Madden ratings would've looked more average.
Is Deion Branch "all that". How'd he do after leaving NE.
How were Randy Moss' stats in Oakland vs. NE?

Did you explain to him that Welker was a restricted free agent? And that New England had offered him a deal with a poison pill that made the deal worth $36M if he had stayed in Miami? The NFL hates these deals with poison pills, so basically forced the teams to work out a trade instead. We had no real choice in the matter.
