Why not begin early? I mean we're going to have probably 5 or 6 50+ wins teams in the playoffs and IMO we'll have at least one 50 win team who doesn't get in.

What will my Spurs do to counter Shaq, Gasol and now Kidd?

Will Golden State do anything? Houston? Utah? New Orleans?

Stay tuned!!

It's going to be one wild Western Conference playoffs. And you can be sure a team like NO is begging to be let into the Eastern Conference where they used to be.

As for my team, my concern is whether we can get Bynum and Ariza back and get the engine greased up in time for the playoffs.

Damn talk about starting a thread early. This will need be bumped a few times.

i think the mavs will have to be right up there with san antonio and los angeles after the kidd trade...will be interesting to see how phoenix will do the rest of the season

Blazers time is coming. Within two years I fully expect them to be a dominant team in the West alongside the Lakers and Warriors.

very sad how noone talks bout my UTAH JAZZ the most underrated team in the NBA

Utah is good, but they are not in the upper echelon of teams right now. Lakers, Spurs,Mavericks, Suns have all usurped them. I agree though, Boozer is having a great year and Williams is a fantastic point guard.

lol @ Utah winning it all. That "great coach" has had a ton of "great teams" and his track record still says "0" next to NBA Titles. Hell, they're only going to achieve first round homecourt because they're in the worst division in the West. I do, however, think Utah is somewhat underrated as they don't even surface some of the discussions. Still a fantastic basketball team, but IMO, level 2 in the Western Conference.

IMO,

1. LA Lakers
2. New Orleans
3. Phoenix
4. Utah
5. Dallas
6. San Antonio
7. Houston
8. Golden State

Lakers are getting heated, and once Bynum returns it's going to be amazing to watch. New Orleans, IMO, will be one of those great regular season teams that lose in round one or two due to the lack of depth, but Chris Paul is still my MVP. Phoenix will slow down a bit waiting for Shaq, and even more waiting for his comfort -- no Marion is a huge chemistry loss, but they'll be alright. Utah will hold firm in their division. Dallas & San Antonio could flip flop, but still, don't count out the Spurs Dynasty come postseason time. Um, from there on out, it's too tough to predict with Golden State, Houston, and Denver, but Houston is rolling right now.......finally.

Lakers vs. Warriors
Hornets vs. Rockets
Suns vs. Spurs
Jazz vs. Mavericks

He will get some run, but I think if L.A. wins the Pacific division, Kobe gets his first MVP. He is having a terrific seaosn and the team is doing tremendous right now. Chris Paul could make a run for it though if N.O. continues to play at the level they have. LeBron ha sbeen mentioned but I can't forsee him winning it. The MVP has to come out of the West somewhere.

I can't believe how little respect Utah gets. They just don't have anyone real flashy or a real superstar. They are a dangerous team

The Southwest Division winner has 4 possible candidates with New Orleans, Dallas, SA and Houston.

Hell only 4.5 games separate the 1st seed and the 8th seed. The Spurs for example are only 3 losses away from missing the playoffs but 2 games back of the 1st seed in the entire conference.

If anything I'd put either Dallas or SA as the 2 or 3 seed and NO at 6th. There's no way they're better then the Mavs/Spurs
