Over the last couple of weeks the wildcat has kinda sputtered and stalled and many of us here have said that we should put the wildcat to rest. However, this week showed that the wildcat is still effective in this league with both Ricky and Ronnie getting touchdowns out of it. I think that the wildcat should stay a staple in our offense.

Opinions?

Whenever you take away time from the opposing team to have them gameplan for something else other than your base offense, its worth the time. Theres going to be weeks where the WC does nothing, and then other times when it breaks off huge plays. I had been waiting for them to set up the option/misdirection like they did with Ronnie and Cobbs on Ronnie's TD in the 4th. Coming up with new wrinkles is the tough part, but thats what our O Cord. gets paid for.

I want to start seeing Ginn taking direct snaps out of the Wildcat. There is no reason with his speed why he shouldn't be getting the ball more be it end around, short slants, anything.

Having Ricky give it to Ginn on a reverse would be a neat wrinkle.

good to see another new wrinkle i think last week was the only time w didnt see a new wrinkle, maybe i just didnt notice it..

Exactly. But the whole "coming up with new wrinkles" doesnt so much apply because i am for certain we havent even seen half of the wrinkles that they originally came up with. I think sparano said they have what, like 30 different plays they run out of it?

we use it too many time imo. we should run it like 5 times max a game, it is still good though

They ran a different formation. Ricky, Ronnie, and Cobbs were all in the backfield on the two TD runs. Ronnie was essentially in the shotgun with Ricky and Cobbs on each side of him. I want to see Ginn get involved in the Wildcat as well. You saw what DeSean Jackson did for Philly with his speed on the edge....

I don't think they should set a limited number of times to use it in a game. If it's working, keep using it until they can stop it. It's like a coach's philosophy of "if you can't stop the run, I'm gonna keep running it until you stop it."

I agree.
