'The Wire' vs. 'Miami Vice'

Baltimore is better known for "Hairspray". Fat chicks dancing on local television.

I have always found it strange that Baltimore brags about being the city portrayed in The Wire. You would think they would be ashamed to be skewered like that.

I have to agree that the miami vice boys who not of made it in Baltimore. They would of died from an STD. Since it is the STD capital of the country not to mention that it is also the highest murder rate per capita as well. Theres no place like baltimore, the city that breeds.

Actually, you're thinking of DC, not Baltimore.
Other than that, yeah, hard to argue with that.

The people of Baltimore are really bored to have post the following article comparing Baltimore vs. Miami: The cop shows. This article from the Baltimore sun is hillarious to me... Check this out:

My question is, why would anyone, in their right mind, want to go to Baltimore in the first place? Duck boat tour? WTF is that? I keep picturing a friggin carnival ride for some reason. Just keep moving folks....nothing to see here.

Baltimore is not all bad. It is drug infested. Full of disease and is a very violant city. These things are all true. At the same time it is a city full of culture as well and downtown is designed nicely. You can go anywhere you want riding the light rail. Camden yards and Ravens stadium are both very good places to see games. The inner harbor and fells point are both alot of fun. Edgar Allen poes house is there. You can visit the sculpture of the thinker there as well. There are some very cool things in Baltimore. There is also a very seedy underworld that coexists there. It is an intresting city with a diverse crowd. The fans there are as diehard as any other city that has a team.

Trust me, Baltimore is not foreign to me. I have visited various areas of Maryland while in the Army and I have to say that the best part is the country (Huntingtown area) beautiful country. As for the diverse culture, I think that South Florida has everything that one could ask for.

Having said this, in the spirit of which the article was written, Baltimore ranks right up there with Buffalo in places that I would like to waste a day of my life. You can't compare Baltimore to Miami. It's like comparing a AMC Pacer to a Ferrari. :)

I've lived most of my life right outside of DC and have unfortunately driven through Baltimore on many many occasions. The stench of that city is beyond disgusting, to quote Norm McDonald: "Baltimore is a dirty, ugly city" :sidelol: It takes a true Baltimoron to pick the worst aspects of their city to be proud of, but to each their own.
