Bill Parcells and co. This man brought in the absolute worst gm in the history of the nfl. He himself literally set this team back light years. The previous regimes did their share to hurt us too but at least there was some workable talent. At that point we were sink or swim based on the moves they made. They could have improved this team but failed miserably. BI'll Parcells and Jeff Ireland are the two worst things to ever happen to the miami Dolphins. We will feel the effects of his drafts for at least two to three years removed.

On a positive note... Hickey seems to have brought in some good talent for us. That needs to keep happening before we see any difference in this team. What I'm saying is this was a team loss headed by the coaches. So tired of Philbins losing attitude, you can see the team has no killer instinct and that is all coach. No linebackers worth a damn to cover anything in the middle of the field (ireland), safeties mediocre (ireland), thank goodness Hickey was able to sort of hide that this year with the fa pickups. no te's, no rb depth. No o line depth(all ireland) Hickey can't rebuild in one year. But regardless of what happened today I do like the direction this team is headed talent wise. Philbin and Tanne need to go. Just them two. No more new regimes, new offensive philosophies, new schemes. Just keep building off what what we got already. New head coach HAS to be willing to work with what is already here.

Huzenga pushing out Don Shula. It spoiled the final 5 seasons of Dan Marino's career and set into motion the coaching carousel.

Yeah that was bad too! Wasn't Shula already half way out the door though?

A lot of bad things have happened to this franchise... Frankly, Wannstedt is where the drop really happened. Which I guess JJ deserves most of the blame for.

On the brightside, I'm a big fan of Hickey's. As much as people get excited about Harbaugh. I'd be a little leery of a move like that. I want to avoid giant egos after Saban and Parcells. But not to the extreme we did with Philbin who has never accomplished anything in his life and just has no reason for ego. Some promising, bright, young mind who's succeeded and distinguished themselves in what they have done to pair with Hickey. McCoy would have fit that description. We'll see who's available as the Philbin experiment winds down.

I disagree! Saban passed on both Brees and Rodgers. That is far worse than the ****ty job Parcels and crew did.

The worst thing that happens to this franchise is fans who post the day that we lose a game without letting some time pass. Made a comment about this yesterday. We are about the same level of a team as the bills. I would rather win the home game later in the season, than to have won today and lost the next one. Obviously I would have like to have won them both, but if we can win the 2nd one I will be fine with a split. It's not the end of the world.

When Shula and Marino left, the class of the organization went out. As really it seems, Miami is trying to win back fans and hopefully win, back the class.

Poor leadership killed this team...after Robbie, Shula and Marino retired.

This. EXACTLY this. If you say otherwise you haven't been following this team long enough.

Jimmy Johnson. Neutered Marino for the end of his career and then gave us Wannstache who finished us off...

I think there are too many possibilities for "The Worst Thing to Happen to This Franchise". It would be far more difficult to figure out the best thing to happen to this franchise since, say, 2000. The Jets deciding to cut Pennington? Brady blowing out his knee? In all seriousness...we haven't drafted a true star since Jason Taylor & Zach Thomas. We haven't had a respectable coach since Jimmy Johnson. Good free agent signings have been rare. We've blown the #1 overall pick (Jake Long), the #2 overall pick (Ronnie Brown), and the #3 overall pick (Dion Jordan). We passed on Drew Brees twice, Aaron Rodgers, & Matt Ryan when all three were there for the taking. We hired terrible coaches like Wannstedt, Cameron, Sparano, and Philbin.

Not one major decision has worked out for this franchise since Marino retired.

I don't believe JJ ever had his heart in this........he just wanted a payday and to be close to the keys.

Remember Huezinga had to keep talking Jimmy into returning?

Shula forced out in a playoff year was the start ....

He should have been forced to accept a GM.

Anyway...all this negativity is way too early...let's let this season play out before we give up and fold.

After the season...there is plenty of time to make changes.

Right now, it's a 16 game journey to improve and hopefully have it all come together come playoff time......enjoy the ride!

Thanks for making that clearer for us all. I, like many, was thinking the REAL problem was the players stinking it up on Sunday. My bad.
