As bad as our plight is right now, I think a win, one win, will stop a lot of the bleeding. Case in point, before this week's MNF game, the Raiders were on a skid and everyone (including me) expected them to lose again vs Denver. But look what happened: they win one and now everyone's talking about em. The last game vs NYJ was one we could have won just as easily as lost. The game turned on 3 plays:
1. The botched handoff which led to NYJ's only TD. They only had 6 pts after that.
2. The overruled Chris Chambers TD. Horrible call. I have seen TD plays where the ball carrier lunges over the goal line and then fumbles but its a TD because he had possession going in. The replay showed that CC had possession and had both feet in until he hit the ground. Only then did the ball come out.
3. RW's fumble. I am not too sure about this call. On the replay, it really looks as though his kness were down before he lost the ball. He was being twisted like a pretzel in there and I thought for a min that he may be hurt or something.
I guess you could make an argument that had the defense not allowed the long completion to Coles, NYJ doesn't score the FG but it's debatable since the D was playing all night long.
In addition, I think that one win stops the drop and everyone (especially Ray) can get thier confidence back. We just have not been getting the breaks. Look at some of the calls in the NE@CHI game where NE lucked out. I think that the scales will eventually balance. We just need to hold on till Jay get's back (SD?BUFF?).
BTW, does anyone know if the game is sold out yet or not?
