I was thinking the other day...is it possible that Parcells not only runs the personnel side of things but that he actually helps GAME PLAN as well???

Think about it...the guy doesnt want to quit football, just like any coach/player when they reach that age where the end is near. I think the reason he didnt want to be a head coach was not because he longer has the passion for it...but because he simply did not want to deal with all the stuff that goes along with it..e.g. - the media. He has the perfect setup...he just sits back, analyzes talent, gives sparano/ireland his opinions on things...etc.

BUT...I think this guy helps them game plan too! It would make sense as to why we seem to out coach every team we face. We have a WEALTH of knowledge with Parcells...i think its ludacris not to assume that we utilize it every single week. Its not just him obviously...Henning was a genius against the Jets. But dont you think that because Parcells knows coaches like Sean Payton that we play this week hes going to chime in with what he knows will work. The guy studied under him, parcells KNOWS his flaws.

I'm just saying...I can see Parcells being a whole lot more active behind the scenes than we think he is. What else does he have to do DURING the season???? Hes probably giving our coaches all the information that they need, and ideas on how to exploit the weaknesses...then they take that and implement it in their plan.

Umm, it was Parcells who brought the wildcat to the Miami Dolphins. He was fascinated with it when he was working for Monday Night Countdown before coming to the Dolphins. Parcells asked the people on that cast to give him all the tapes of the wildcat at Arkansas that they could find.

The people who worked on that show said he was totally fascinated with it and loved the mismatches the wildcat creates against a defense.

Parcells comes to Miami, and one of his first hires was hiring David Lee who was the orchestrator of the Wildcat at Arkansas.

So obviously Parcells has a big hand in our game planning, personnel acquisitions, and what we want to do on the field.

Here's David Lee explaining the "base" Wildcat while at Arkansas

Sure. I wasnt referring to just the wildcat though...I was suggesting that Parcells is studying tape, just as the coaches do..every single week and he is greatly influencing their strategies week in and week out.

A lot of people thought all Parcells is doing here is overseeing the acquisition of personnel, and advising on those kinds of things...where as I think hes game planning every single week.

Think about the advantage that is...Parcells was already looking ahead to the Saints game weeks ago. Hes probably already studying next weeks opponent too. Its as if we have a 2ND HEAD coach...who doesnt have to worry about ANYTHING but FOOTBALL!

I doubt he leaves his legacy in someone else`s hands. Even with saying that I think it`s more of an information gathering and passing it over to TS more then BP trying to tell TS what to do. When he hated interference himself I doubt he would do that to the ones he hires.

Exactly!

But TS would be a fool not to tap into BPs wealth of knowledge and we know Tony is no fool!
