Multiple Choice:

A) We dont have the cap room to sign him.
B) He really isnt an upgrade and isnt that great of a LT.
C) Hudson has faith he can turn our 1st round draft pick into our starting LT.
D) If Hudson cant, there are a TON of LT's in next years draft.
E) All of the above

Take your pick my man.

D) BTW we have $8 million in capspace so choice A) should be void.

Although we have 8 million in cap space, we haven't signed any rookies. We actually are running a little low on funds.

We still have more cap space than most teams.

2 years ago, it would be hard for me to believe that guys like Law, Simmons, George, and Bowlware would be in free agency this long.

Have the Dolphins had any more talks with Schulters? Also, if they offer him a 1M contract, wouldn't that be a slap in the face of Law? I know he is not even fully recovered yet but I think he at least deserves a bunch of incentives. Anyone know if Law's offer includes a ton of incentives?

My opinion is that the answer would be C; but I believe that Houck believes this is the case with the entire O-line. I guess initially I was kind of surprised that we didn't really look to upgrade the line too much. It seems like MacDougle was picked up in order to move Carey to LT. Apparently Houck looked at our linemen and was satisfied, for the most part with who we have. Obviously (for Houck) plugging in a bunch of new guys wouldn't be out of the question-that's what he had success with last year in SD. So Houck must really be okay with who we have. This being the case I'm expecting a middle of the pack group (at least). I guess my only concern is that Houck hasn't let past success go to his head. ie: thinking he can truly turn chicken **** into chicken salad. That was a significant part of JJ's downfall here in Miami. Oh well, we'll see.

i dunno what anthony simmons has done wrong, ok he was injured last year, but he is still a decent player

I would take Ty Law over everyone. In big games he always makes big plays and that is something we lacked when we were contenders 2/3/4 years ago. Miami had some big games those years and always choked. Minnesota, New England (more then once), playoff games, ect. If Miami ever played itself into a position where they had a big game with New England this year I would trust Ty Law to do something big. I don't think he's worth a big contract but I definitely think we should look into him hard if there's a way we can afford him!

Three guys that I automatically eliminate because there's no way that we'll be able to afford them would be Ty Law, Peter Boulware, and Anthony Simmons (definitely Law and Boulware). The only player left that's appealing on that list that would could definitely use would be Lance Schulters. He's still there... I hope that we get him.
