That Saban goes into this upcoming season with Ronnie Brown and Sammie Morris as his RB 1,2 tandum. Any thoughts on what vet RB's there are to be had?

If you think that opening night it's Ronnie and Sammie as the 1 and 2 at Heinz field, you're kidding yourself.

I think it will be Ronnie and Maurice Drew at 1 and 2. Or Saban will draft Robinson and make him into a RB.

I think you're right.

Remember what happened when Travis Minor was "the man". Ugh... Everybody cited his yards per carry average, and he just sucked.

I like Sammy and Travis a lot, but if Ronnie tweaks his ankle in week 10 and misses a few games, I don't want Sammy to be "the man".

who else is there other than KJ....we have too much other holes to fill than geting a running back on the first day

why not? pittsburgh won 3 playoff games on the road and the superbowl with willie parker and a 100 year old bus!!!!

ricky would probably have been traded anyway

Please do NOT equate the Pitt running game to Miami's. Look at Pitt's o-line man. I would agree with you if they were running behind the Pitt line, but they won't be.

ok using that logic...ricky would not have made a difference anyway...since you are saying the line sucks!!!! which one is it?

what was ricky gonna do...play tackle?!?!?!?

If you think Saban is spending a first round pick or any kind of $$$ on a backup RB you are kidding yourself.

or run behind the so called bad o-line just like ronnie is gonna have to do? so what is your point?

Sammy Morris is a very capable backup RB IMO. I have no problem with him getting 5-6 carries per game to give Ronnie a breather. If Ronnie gets injured for more than 1 or 2 games, we may have a problem.

I agree. I see phins finding a capable backup in the draft in the first 4 rounds depending on when RBs get drafted (earlier or later). Someone who is good at catching the ball also and over 200 lbs.

Possibilities
D. Williams
J. Addai
L. Washington
Maroney
Calhoun (proven he is a workhorse)
Gerald Riggs
J. Norwood
W. Lundy
A. Hall
M. Drew (maybe too small)

great point! you cannot have two deep superstars at every position! ricky was a luxury....ronnie was the 2nd pick in the draft for a reason! ronnie is ready to carry the load and sammy can spell him for a few plays a game or a game or two starting if need be!!!

So that must mean that we are going to sign the "mystery" free agant RB. If you think that we will spend an early draft pick on a back-up RB with all of the holes that we have, then you are kidding yourself.
