There is hope yet for the actual fish of Miami

The Miami site is perfect. I can get to it right after classes or work (I got to school in MDC Wolfson, and I do a lot of work in the county building). The MetroRail, I-95, The Beach, Bayside is all right there

Can't wait til they get a new stadium and we never have to see that infield dirt in Dolphin Stadium again.

While I don't care for the infield dirt either, it did get Miami 2 World Series Championships

No doubt, nothing against the Marlins at all I just hate that dirt on Sundays! :dolphins:

if they put the stadium taht far down there, they will lose a big% of people from palm beach county.

I live in Northern Broward, so I'd like a centrally located stadium myself. But here's the bottom line: stadium somewhere in South Florida > stadium in some other place.

There is absolutely no chance MLB lets the Marlins move. Miami and the adjacent part of the world has turned into too marketable a place for the league. That said, the longer they let this particular stadium deal languish, the longer one of the top 3 most talented teams in baseball can not keep its players around. This team is on the verge of something very, very special on the field, what with a starting rotation of all players 24 and under who all have great stuff and have had success at the major league level, two franchise players in the field, four more very solid positional players, a top prospect that still needs to pan out, and a farm system chock full of the very quality every other team in MLB is desperate to find: pitching.

All they need now is their own home, and the longer it takes, the worse it is for all parties involved.

How many more years do they have in JRS anyway?

The lease ends in 2010. They must have another place to play, wherever it is, by Opening Day 2011.
