If RW's appeal works out, we will have two great RBs. Saban is not going to name a "starter". He is going to play whichever guy is more effective at that pont. These two have different styles, which means that the number of carries per week each receives will depend on our opponent and their health. Having Ricky Williams to compete with for playing time will only make Ronnie Brown better. Competition brings out the best in players. PLEASE DO NOT START A CONTROVERSY!

man it will be rb by committie. and we will have fresh legs all gme and all season and any one heard of mack and byner? well ricky and ronnie 1,000 each???????? r&r baby . that would be so hard to do huh but not far out there!

Not to worry. If Saban gets an interested party. He may get traded and there won't be any controversy.

how about we let ricky run as a starter kind of pave the way for brown, like how KC does with priest and larry..let ricky run him self out and then comes in freshly preserved ronnie B helps preserve his "shelf life"

That's not very far-fetched at all. RB got 907 and Ricky 743 in 12 games!! And all that was with pass happy Scotty. Mularkey likes to run the ball more, and I think the addition of Beasley speaks volumes. We could very well have two backs with 1000 yds.

I'm a Ronnie Brown man.

But I have to say, I cannot disagree with that post.

:yeahthat: Plus I really like the idea of lining both Ricky and Ronnie up together in the backfiled. That gives you two threats on the field at the same time. You could run some serious traps, counters, and double playaction! Man that's a great weapon.

yea i am big on ronnie getting majority of the carries but i love what ricky can do and with the combination of him and ronnie splitting carries we have 2 power houses at running back

I think there are 2 teams that are going to be interested in trading for Ricky if he wins his appeals. That's the colts and Bronco's. I think he would be a perfect fit for Indianapolis, and let's remember this all started with the Bronco's looking into him because they wanted to trade for him, and they didn't make any major moves in free agency to get a rb.

Personally I would prefer to keep him this season, and then trade him next year in his last year of his contract. If we don't trade him next year then we would lose him after the season with nothing in return.

I would be happy with a late 2nd for him.

How can having one top tier running back and a future pro bowl running back be a RB controversy? LOL... Yeah I know what you mean but I think we can still do what we did last year and be better at it since we have experience.
