Not just the tears, he looked very distressed over what transpired during the draft process, and most of it was because of Ricky Williams.. It had nothing to do with him, yet Benson's appearance and relationship with him made the media and teams leary.. Honestly, almost every question he would have been asked here upon getting drafted would have been about Ricky, and that wouldnt have been fair to him.. I think he would have crumbled under all the scrutiny and pressure..

He would have been a bust in Miami regardless.. You saw how much the Ricky stuff affected him.. Now imagine if he would have come here, and would have been under the microscope by the fans who felt betrayed by his one time idol and football clone. Benson would have been an emotional wreck in Miami in my opinion.. It was the best for both Benson and Miami that Saban took Brown over him. He might end up being a better back than Brown in Chicago in the long run, but I honestly do not believe he would have worked out here.. Too much pressure.

Seeing him standing next to Williams and hearing the skuttlebutt that he and ricky were tight was enough for me to say NO to drafting this guy!!
Listening to his interview after the Bears drafted him should be enough to convince Dolphin fans that we are lucky that Benson won't be pulling on a Dolphin jersey!!
