OK people it's time to bring up the obvious to those of you who refuse to to see the truth. Pat White was not brought in to run the wildcat. He CAN'T run the wildcat. At best he can be a WR in the wildcat. He will never be under center or recieving the snap in the wildcat....PERIOD!!!
WHY you ask?? You have to look at the wildcat for what it is not what fans see. The wildcat is a power running formation where the advantage gained is gained from an "UNBALANCED LINE"!!!!!! The unbalanced line is the key to the wildcat because it forces the defense to play out of position. No matter how they line up there will be a mismatch advantage to the offense. This advantage is then mutiplied by a direct snap to the POWER RUNNING BACK, (not a thin armed QB. ), who then has an extra blocker due to the fact there is no QB. The play developes faster and the RB makes one quick read to attack the overload, or hesitates a second for the defense to overreact and then attacks the weak side. Either way it is definitely a run first formation.
Can White be useful as a WR in the formation?? Sure but you don't draft someone to be a decoy in a seldom used formation. White was brought in to be a QB. An every down QB.
To put White under center in the wildcat would be like puting Henne, Beck, and Penny in the backfield in the goalline package. You only pass out of the wildcat to keep the defense honest. It is a run first package, and not just a run first but a power run first attack. A fullback would be better running the formation than White. White is not gonna be a run between the tackles type of player IMO so he isn't going to be the QB in the wildcat.
Go over the Miami.com if you don't believe me, Saprono says the same thing when asked. He said we already have someone to run the wildcat, who did a great job last year with it. He also says White is gonna be a Fulltime QB.
If you think White is a great fit for the wildcat, then you don't understand the wildcat. It's that simple. It would be like putting Ronnie under center in the redgun. Not gonna happen.
