OK people it's time to bring up the obvious to those of you who refuse to to see the truth. Pat White was not brought in to run the wildcat. He CAN'T run the wildcat. At best he can be a WR in the wildcat. He will never be under center or recieving the snap in the wildcat....PERIOD!!!

WHY you ask?? You have to look at the wildcat for what it is not what fans see. The wildcat is a power running formation where the advantage gained is gained from an "UNBALANCED LINE"!!!!!! The unbalanced line is the key to the wildcat because it forces the defense to play out of position. No matter how they line up there will be a mismatch advantage to the offense. This advantage is then mutiplied by a direct snap to the POWER RUNNING BACK, (not a thin armed QB. ), who then has an extra blocker due to the fact there is no QB. The play developes faster and the RB makes one quick read to attack the overload, or hesitates a second for the defense to overreact and then attacks the weak side. Either way it is definitely a run first formation.

Can White be useful as a WR in the formation?? Sure but you don't draft someone to be a decoy in a seldom used formation. White was brought in to be a QB. An every down QB.
To put White under center in the wildcat would be like puting Henne, Beck, and Penny in the backfield in the goalline package. You only pass out of the wildcat to keep the defense honest. It is a run first package, and not just a run first but a power run first attack. A fullback would be better running the formation than White. White is not gonna be a run between the tackles type of player IMO so he isn't going to be the QB in the wildcat.

Go over the Miami.com if you don't believe me, Saprono says the same thing when asked. He said we already have someone to run the wildcat, who did a great job last year with it. He also says White is gonna be a Fulltime QB.
If you think White is a great fit for the wildcat, then you don't understand the wildcat. It's that simple. It would be like putting Ronnie under center in the redgun. Not gonna happen.

Last time I checked, most of the big gains from the Wildcat last season was due to Ronnie breaking through a whole that was well blocked and with enough speed to run by the LB's and/or safety, or with enough speed to hit the edge.

White is as fast or faster then Ronnie, now you add the ability to throw acurately and I see much trouble for many defenses.(no more cheating a safety or two towards the line anymore)

Can White run the Wildcat... Yes, and much better then Brown could.
Chubbs

Ps. I would like to add that White has much more experience reading defenses and has alot of experience running the spread offense. Its a no brainer. Anything your hearing from Dolphins HQ's this time a year take it with a grain of salt, their is a reason why you will not see much of the Wildcat in the preseason, teams do not want to show play their poker hands until the games begin to matter.

ummmmmmmmm pat white is clearly faster then ronnie. it would definitely work and whens the last time our coaches tell the truth about plans 4 a potential threat to all opponents it almost dumbs down the expectations of other nfl d coordinators... watch out 4 the option and the spread 2 b used off audibles too cuz i think we running the annexation of puerto rico and the oooopty ooop

don't say never he could do it he's a guy with good open field moves and he won't be trying to run up the middle or anything it's more of a option he takes the snap the RB comes into motion he either hands it off or pulls back for a pass.

So you want to tell me that during the Wildcat formation, White under center is a bad idea...
He can throw, run and catch....
Just imagine if you are playing defense, who do you cover :
1) Pat White himself
2) R. Brown
3) Patrick Cobbs
4) A. Fasano
5) Ginn
6) Ricky Williams

Thre are so many possibilities..I like the Pat White move myself !!!

Everyone is very wrapped up in this "wildcat" formation.
The fact of the matter is it is just a single wing with an unbalanced line.
I do believe that Ronnie runs that single formation better then Pat may.
But people are failing to see the QB read plays that Pat will integrate into the offense.
The "wildcat" or being the starting QB are not the only ways of getting the ball into Pat's hands. Theres middle ground that Pat's playmaking ability will be integrated.

So true! Pat White will not be the QB or Trigger Man in every set, but he has the ability to run catch and throw, so no matter where he is on the field Defenses have to account for him because he has a versatile big play threat when ever he touches the ball.

Ummmm Ronnie ran a 4.3 forty and White ran a high 4.4. Exactly how is that "clearly faster"???

What people fail to realize is that a lot of teams used the wildcat after we did. Not one of them had the nearly the same success because they don't have Ronnie Brown. Pat White may add another wrinkle to it, but Ronnie will still run the show.

I don't disagree with everything the guy is saying. But I'm pretty sure at least part of the reason Pat White was drafted by Miami is to play/run the wildcat. I don't think Pat will be taking all of the snaps out of it though, I'd expect Ronnie to still take a good majority of the snaps in the wildcat. Pat White isn't really faster than Brown and Ronnie is a much better runner..... that shouldn't even be up for debate, if Pat White was better at running the ball than Ronnie then Pat would have been the #1 overall pick in the draft and we wouldn't even be having this discussion. So IMO the Wildcat will still be centered around Ronnie but Pat White will definitely be involved.

Sorry, but I think you're wrong. I think we'll see Pat White taking plenty of snaps from behind center in the wildcat formation this year....

IN TUNA WE TRUST...

i disagree with a lot he said... the Wildcat is not the only reason White was drafted, but i believe it is a big reason.

he has the ability to run it as a QB right now, allowing Ricky and Ronnie to take the other spots. now you can see more reverse, counter, action as well as the off tackle action that has been working. speed to the corners he can contribute too.

i have been waiting all year to never see the option off this, which disappointed me... a fake handoff by ronnie, heading to the tackle spot, and then pitching it back out to ricky who is hitting the corner. i saw this as a great play at times, since ronnie drew the corners and attention right at the tackles so quickly.

White.... will be in the Wildcat.

You don't need to overload the O-line now...in fact using 11 players against 11 is what you get with White at QB.

If you look at what W.V. did...I'd say White is plenty good enough to make one player miss....plus he add's the unknown factor...is it a run...or a pass...if a run...will it be White or Ronnie. As Jimmy Johnson stated...while it will take the Dolphins offense 30 mins to add a play...it will take a defense all day to try to beat it. The more you make a defense think...you already have won.

Some fans believe with White at QB...the Dolphins will quickly score everytime he or Ronnie touches the ball...that won't happen...what will happen is the offense will be able to move the ball down the field...first down after first down...and keep the other teams defense on the field...while the Dolphins defense is sitting and resting. Thats how you win games.
