There's been a lot of talk but I'm not seeing results

From the time I joined this board, I've been hearing about how Ronnie Brown is such a GREAT receiver and blocker, and how Ricky's return would open up all sorts of options for Ronnie. But what I saw yesterday was Brown standing on the sidelines in 80% of the passing downs (3rd and 7 or longer) and Morris in the back field. Morris? What's the story here?

So far Brown has 13 catches for 87 yards.
Michael Pittman has 17 catches for 168 yards and 1 TD.

So what's the story? I'd like to say that the Bucs shut your boy down but I'm not sure he was on the field long enough for us to take credit. Did anyone notice if he was there and just didn't get his number called, or was he getting yanked on key 3rd and longs?
 
I'm a big believer when I say, sometimes coaches out coach themselves. Sometimes I just sit there and scratch my head and say what the hell is going on out there!
 
I myself was wondering about sammy morris in on third down......:confused:
 
To say ronnie isn't a great blocker is ridiculous...while i was at the game yesterday i saw him put on some blocks on D. Brooks and S. Quarles that would have sacked gus if ronnie wasn't there to block them...
 
You are right. There was absolutely no reason to have Sammy in there yesterday. Ronnie should have had at least 20 carries and 6 catches.

Do me a favor. Could you please highlight the part of my post were I said "Ronnie Brown is not a very good blocker."? Can you do that for me?

I'm saying that the guy comes with a lot of hype about all the things he does but yet he is on the sidelines at critical times. I want to know why Dol-fans think that is.
 
They may not have had time to get Brown up to speed in the passing game after he missed so much of camp. Once camp is over practices are devoted to gameplanning for opponents, not getting certain guys up to speed with the playbook.

you're fogetting that Brown is a rookie who doesn't have the Ol that Cadillac has and RW just got back.

hmmm... While I realize Brown is a rookie, he is still the teams leading rusher and has been touted as a great threat out of the backfield. So why pull him if you're trying to mount a comeback? However, your post does raise another point. Ronnie AND Ricky were pulled for Sammy Morris. What the....? It makes me wonder if the OC over there (Lieman?) has the confidence in RB (and RW) that the fans have.
