The Jets won their season opener — big — and Sam Darnold was the mayor of Gotham. The Dolphins started out 3-0 and Ryan Tannehill was back and better than ever. What the hell happened!?
Rhetorical question. The NFL happened. Darnold’s rookie learning curve kicked in; he doesn’t get much help and the Planes (led by Dead Man Coaching Todd Bowles) have averaged a meager 13.6 points in their five losses. And Miami continues to wait for Tannehill’s return from a shoulder injury like Vladimir and Estragon waiting for Godot. Godot never showed. Tannehill might, someday, meanwhile we get a fourth straight game of Brock Osweiler. Brockvember? (Who else works a 1950s Samuel Beckett play into an NFL pick, by the way? You’re welcome!). The fact the home team here has a better record yet is only favored by a bare-bones 3 points verifies how little bettors believe in Miami. I get that. At the same time, what better salve for the Fins’ colossal downturn in defensive success than a sincerely bad NYJ offense?

This game can go either way, the Jets historically plays Miami hard and if there's a team to lose to them you guest it....it's Miami. These are two lousy teams playing for pride more than anything else, my heart says Miami but my head is telling me Jets in an upset if there's such a thing with these two teams.

It's why I hate the Jets more than any other team, all the times we've lost as the "better" team.

If Miami has *any* desire to trend up, it has to start versus the Jets and it has to be convincing.

Well, you can bet the Jets are gonna try to run it down our throat, and create play-action opportunities for Darnold.
In the first game, we held them to 42 yards on 19 carries. We need that kind of effort again.

What are the odds we make Sam look like Brett Favre.

Do you mean a ton of yards and a bunch of picks, then I’d say pretty high. The surgical gunslinger??? Well that’s a fairly low chance even with our pathetic defense. We only make good QBs look like world beaters. Darnold is not good.

Been a fan of long time and I've seen many pedestrian players look like all pros after they play us. I kind of see it the opposite I think we usually shut down the studs and let nobody's make a name for themselves.

At this point it’s hard to have confidence in this defense, despite the opponent.

Houston's offense wasn't lighting the world on fire either and they torched us. Darnold threw for over 300 the first game. It wouldn't surprise me if we make him look like a future hall of famer this weekend.

We may win this week, but Darlond is going to be a thorn in our side for years and years to come. Not looking forward to it.

We're coming off a mini bye and our defense has fond memories of our most recent game. If anyone is fighting the stigma, it's New York.

It's November so I'm predicting Osweiler has a bad game and throws a pick 6 late. Jets win and cover.

It could get better, we could be playing buffalo.

You have to make a rookie quarterback a favorite not to put up many points. The Jets interestingly haven't been in the 20s all season. They have 5 outings below 20 points and 3 at 34+.
